"During our vacation in port douglas we have taken most days to house breakfast, but a few times to breakfast. after an excellent breakfast in cafe fresq we knew we needed a return visit, and I'm so glad we made it! the menu is varied without being too long, but covers all the bases from healthy to decadent, sweet and hearty. a large number of options can be made vegetarian and vegan that is always a plus, and the staff was super friendly and helpful."

"Harrisons has moved to the Sheraton Grand Mirage and Spencer Patrick's second restaurant is now called Bistro H. We were pleased to find it just as good as the old Harrisons at that location. We could not fault the food, the wine and the service. Both are must eating places in Port Douglas. By the way Bucci, Spencer Patrick's old restaurant in Macrossan St, is now closed and the site cleared."

"Family dinner here last night at Port Douglas. Food was way over priced for what you got. You have to order sides with every meal at $9+ each. Paying $25.00 for piece steak bit rich. It was quite windy when we went and as you are sitting out on open decking very cool and not really pleasant. Wouldn't bother again."

"If we didn't know that 2Fish had recently won best seafood restaurant in Australia award we would have thought it a nice meal. However, with this heady title naturally our expectations were raised but unfortunately not met. We are spoilt in Adelaide with an abundance of delicious fresh seafood and such good restaurants that would have beaten this one hands down. One wonders at objectivity of judging. Highlight was Connor our charming travelling American waiter."

"The beach shack is a few minutes outside the town but well worth a visit. The layout, sand floor and the staff make the atmosphere and experience enjoyable. The menu has a variety of dishes to suit most palates from Malaysian curry to Jamaican steak which was particularly nice. I would definitely return"

"We ate here a few days ago for breakfast which we enjoyed, apart from the loud music. So today we called in for lunch, over an hour before closing time, and the food was fine. But they were obviously keen to close as over half...an hour before they were due to shut we found ourselves surrounded by chairs upturned on tables until we were left feeling very unwelcome. Would have ordered coffee but didn't feel comfortable. Won't go there again."

"Avoid them. without doubt the worst Chinese meal we've ever eaten anywhere in Australia or in the country. there are 2 Chinese restaurants in port the others offering fantastic foods that we had eaten there some nights earlier. most restaurants in port are closed montages. so limited options, we tried han court waited almost 2 hours for our order and after tasting each meal probably the only time that we have thrown away immediately into the am after the first mouthfulls. try the other one in the main street."
