"Had a home delivery last night for 4 and it was awful over half went in the bin. How can the food go from lovely to awful. And didn't get a freebie (prawn crackers) would have been acceptable after paying 55.00 it's safe to say I will not be ordering again."

"On an unexpectedly sunny day, we took a walk and made for Downend, which is normally a good 20 25 minute stroll from home. We went the long way round taking in the St George V playing fields, it was good to get out and about. It was a Sunday afternoon and we had taken 45 minutes to walk to Downend to take advantage of the extended opening hours for a supermarket ‘local’ store there. We had anticipated that most businesses would be closed on this bank holiday Sunday, so we were delighted to see that The Beehive Coffee House was open for business. The fact that some comfortable seats around 4 5 tables on the pavement were available (nice flowers in tubs too) was a deal clincher. It was an unexpected opportunity to stop for a coffee after the extended and thirst making walk, and before our shorter walk back home. Despite being on the High Street (normally busy with traffic) it was almost strangely quiet, very few cars and fewer pedestrians. The cars that did stop, did so at the Beehive (joining a few pedestrians as well) to buy some amazing looking desserts called Freak Shakes; enormous! We settled for 2 Americano coffees and a chocolate cookie: just the one because I’m not a great fan of any biscuit or cake and I was trying to behave (diet wise). My partner thought the cookie was really good and I confess that I did have a nibble. The coffee was very hot, tasted smooth rich and mellow, and that was a tick in the box for us. So thank you Beehive for your good service, excellent coffee, slightly sinful cookie and for a really pleasant sit down."

"Take away only. Some dishes are a lot better than others, and even that can be a bit of a lottery. My other half usually orders the same dish. Sometimes it's only OK, other times it can be the best they've ever made. I think it must depend on who's doing the cooking that night."
