"We had a good time celebrating our friends birthday . Starters we good , on the meat side mutton had just one fixed dish and that was weird... rest all was awesome , along with the service and ambiance . Would be great if they could bring on beer along with mocktails . Overall was a great experience ."

"Anjappar is well known for its chettinad food.. a great place to enjoy good old spicy, flavorful south indian non veg food..<br/>Their service is good and staff is polite and helpful.. we asked for suggestions and weren't disappointed with what was brought to us.. the prices are reasonable.. and they have a good menu.. any hardcore non vegetarian would love this place.. they serve chicken, lamb, mutton, fish, prawns, rabbit.. all in their authentic chettinad spices.. the food is high on flavor and a big bang of spice.. not for people who like bland food.. <br/>We ordered fish fingers for the starter, nice with a South Indian twist to it.. good fresh fish.. fried to perfection.. for the main course, we ordered the mutton biryani, pepper chicken and rotis.. <br/>the biryani was divine! unlike other normal biryanis, the flavors and spices used made all the difference.. the mutton was succulent and falling of the bone.. it was served with a rassa and raita.. the pepper chicken was exquisite.. yum! like an explosion of flavors in your mouth really tasty.. boneless tender chicken coated in all those extravagant spices.. it goes with anything .. the rotis went well it it and so did the biryani.. great place.. lovely food!"

"Well ! I have visited four times since I was in Pondicherry twice. First time it was an experimental journey which comes out as a mandatory dinner date for me.<br/ <br/ Babycorn Manchurian and Prawn Manchurian are the Best starters and prawns are properly cooked. Chicken curry and Kadhai chicken are added advantage.<br/ <br/ Fish curry is mesmerizing as it reminds me of Hilsa fish, exactly tastes like that.<br/ <br/ Rooftop is always desirable for any kind of travelling groups to feel mild breeze and old rock songs over the beer.<br/ <br/ Since it was Saturday and crowded we were not served plates to have starters and we had that from that bowl ! But I can't complaint against some exceptional incident !<br/ <br/ Coming to billing department , They have charged 10% Service charge along with 2.5% SGST 2.5% CGST. When I have checked with the manager he took reference of Promenade restaurant hotel and informed they also take. And lastly When I explained him GST (even though he knows better than me) he told not to give service charge.<br/ <br/ Since Pondicherry is cheap compared to other places I have decided to pay that service charge because of the happiness I got from that place.<br/ <br/ Overlooking above two exceptional incidents Chitra's cuisine should be a must visit place to hangout.<br/ <br/ I have ordered online from Zomato for Lunch which tastes good as well.<br/ <br/ Waiting for third visit at Pondicherry !!"

"Been here after seeing good reviews for this hotel in pondicherry. Ordered Mutton biryani, Prawn Kamatchi, Seer Fish Fry and Vanjaram Fish Curry with Rice. All food items tasted good. Prawn Kamatchi is prawn fry with egg which was deep fried in oil. Biryani Quantity was little less. This hotel offers a complete Tamil Nadu style dishes."

"After our morning trip to Auroville we were tired and hungry enough. We were roaming around in search of restaurant and suddenly saw this though I read it's review in zomato before. So stopped and went inside. <br/>It was 3.30 pm and too late for lunch. <br/>We hurriedly ordered for one chicken noodles and with that chilli chicken. Lastly we ordered for a continental dish. Something named as chicken pie.<br/>The hotel was spacious with many sitting arrangements. Even the waiters were properly dressed. The service was also quick. We didn't waited for long.<br/>The foods were nicely cooked. Tasty it was. I was waiting for the continental and that too came out nicely and just made us full. Chicken pieces chopped nicely cooked with capsicum and spices and from top baked with mashed potato and cheese. The smell from it was yummy! <br/>The price won't pinch u much."

"Authentic food, good portions and good price. Loved the wood fired pizza. The rosemary chicken was a tad sweet for my taste though. They have yummy sounding specials and I now wish I had the prawns pasta instead of the chicken."
