"Dined twice , first the downfall,waiting far too long for starters both times and it was not busy, being a waitress myself in the past we were told to keep window seats waiting to make the resturant look busy, after the wait food was amazing as well as staff and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere."

"We decided to eat the three course set lunch menu at £9.90 was piping hot, clear freshly cooked. good selection available, decent size shares. we tried the pancake roll, spring rolls, huh in orange sauce, crispy salt and pfeffer bark. we had an pineapple fritter and a banana fritter. really enjoyed eating, service was in order. we were the only people in the restaurant, and it was glittery! very tried to put our hunting back when eating! only other disappointment was the appeal of £3,20 for a dose of diet coke I know drinks are where restaurants earn their money, but the feeling that is above the tip."

"Having had the seafood platter twice at this place under its previous guise/ownership, first one fabulous, second one terrible, when I discovered that the Lochindaal hotel had taken it over, I must admit when I booked our seafood platter this year I did so with some trepidation: would it be the same place, run in the same way as on our last disappointing visit, or would new ownership have brought better quality and standards? I 'm happy to report that it turned out to be the latter! Although the price of the platter had risen to £100, it turned out to be the best we had ever eaten, and the biggest! At first I was a little underwhelmed at the presentation, which amounted to a great, steaming pile of crab claws and lobster pieces, along with the biggest, thickest scallops I 've ever seen. All qualms about presentation were quickly forgotten, however, as we tucked into the sweetest, tenderest seafood I can remember eating. Everything cooked to perfection, the warm meat dropping out of the shells with minimal fiddling about. Just about perfect, in fact. The service was perhaps a little informal and lacked professionalism at times, but the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, and we certainly didn 't experience the long wait or chaotic atmosphere I have seen mentioned here in other reviews. For sure there is room for improvement (hence my rating of Very Good rather than Excellent , and I can 't comment about any of the other food served here as we 've only ever had the seafood platter. All I can say is that if our experience is typical then it 's doubtful you will find better-cooked seafood anywhere on the island...and as anyone who knows Islay will appreciate, there is plenty of competition! Thanks to everyone at Lochindaal for a fabulous meal, which made our first wedding anniversary even more special! See you next year :"

"There are a few options for net, but they need to ask which are vegan e.g. chickpea burger and nachos. the most important highlight are the pudding/kissen they have. I had vegan brownie and milk free ice, that was delicious. they also had vegan carrots and coffee cakes available."

"Yesterday whilst in Dunoon for a visit we decided to have our meal in this restaurant as there was not a lot open. Staff were attentive and service was good. My wife opted for the BBQ Chicken with Bacon and I chose the Scampi. Both came well presented, warm and tasty! They have a good range of options, drinks and cocktails. Worth a visit if you are in the area!"
