"For over 12 years, the Sun Inn has been our favorite restaurant in the Edinburgh area. The food was always something a wee bit special. Unfortunately, last nite was not the case. There’s been a significant change in the menu, and not for the better. My partner and I had the soup, which to be honest was good. However my Daughter had the crispy cauliflower which was a complete disaster. From then on it went downhill, two of us had the steak pie, Fray Bentos make better! I’ll stress that we had no issues with the waiting staff, and I felt guilty having to voice my concerns about our experience. We only had four alcoholic drinks, three starters, and three mains. The bill after deductions was still £129! In essence a complete disaster, and having read other recent reviews on here, there does seem to be “issues.” My partner and Daughter have always raved The Sun Inn, and I’m gutted having to write this review…….."

"Excellent menu, lovely meals, nice service. You can phone your order in and they give you a collection time, which is ideal as you arrive, pay the bill and collect your order. It is a long established business. We can highly recommend. Not far from Edinburgh City bypass 6 or 7 minutes, and half way along Clerk Street in Loanhead."

"Went to the Dean on Friday night for a meal, got the salted chilli chicken, it was as good as any Chinese restaurant. Social distancing was also great within the bar area, they are taking it seriously, well organised. Didn't even need to get of...seat as you just put your hand up a d someone took your order and delivered to the table"

"Location is great, place looks fab, manager/owner is friendly and enthusiastic. Waiting staff a tad glum. Had late breakfast, kedgeree, which was tasty, but portion was way too small for Coffee was ok, decaff wasn't great, but not many places can get decaff right....Overall not bad, but with a bit of effort could be great"
