"We wanted to taste some seafood in Coos Bay and there are very few options, so we decided to try this. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. I think because of the type of food service delivery, the quality will really depend on when it was delivered. The reason I don't give him 5 stars is because he needs some cleaning and there was flying, but that happens. If they needed some time to really clean this place, I would give him a 5 star."

"Definitely wish I had read the reviews before coming here. First item I ordered was the garlic oysters which left something to be desired. Garlic sauce was ok, but seemed they were a little over cooked. Definitely would have been better if they were grilled in the shell instead of the attempt at fancy dining shells, imo. Next, the chowder was served as my side to the salmon. Honestly, it tasted like cambels chowder straight out of the can. Definitely would not recommend... Finally the salmon, it was plated beautifully but was over cooked and the mashed potatoes were over seasoned leaving them inedible. Having worked in restaurants, I informed the waitress and was told everyone in the kitchen was new. Maybe that's the reason, maybe not. . But if you're willing to throw away some good money to see if they get it right, be their guest. "

"I took my gf here and we ordered the shrimp cocktail, steak, chicken Alfredo, and chocolate cake. I got my steak medium rare and it was delicious. My gf loved her chicken Alfredo and we both enjoyed the chocolate cake. Now the potatoes were my favorite, creamy savoury perfection. Where as my least favorite dish served were the vegetables. They did not taste fresh whatsoever more straight out of the freezer into the microwave. Also I was not impressed with the cocktail I felt the shrimp were bland. Our waitresses we're efficient and courteous. I feel for the price they could do better but overall it was a good experience."

"We love El Caporal! The food is good and consistent. The salsa is made in house and it's always fun to see what each batch tastes like. To clarify, it is always delicious, but the spiciness varies. We just love it. Jose, Jovita (adore her), and Elizabeth are wonderfully kind and welcoming. The restaurant is very clean, and I've heard the kitchen is as clean as the front of the house. My kids beg to go here often. El Caporal is a wonderful gem in our little community."

"Best shrimp, halibut fajitas I had here in Oregon, cut mushrooms such a nice touch!! Good margaritas, all staff members polite and friendly to ensure that you are in anyway helping to make your stay comfortable. We're sorry you're not here in the Grants Pass! Hmm"
