"1) I wanted my fiancé (UK) to try real Sarrabulho rice. What they served was an insult, looked like chewed rice floating in water, plus the meat tasted oily (can't confirmed, didn't try it); 2) being vegetarian, asked for suggestions. Lettuce/tomato salad or soup were the options. I asked if they could to omelete or sautéed veggies and even though they had the ingredients they refused. Sad because the north is supposedly where we should eat the best in Portugal (im from Lisbon, but my parents from here I always had the best meals in Viana) and this was possibly my worst experience ever. Won't come back or recommend to anyone."

"Terrible tourist trap! Unfortunately we didn’t see the other reviews on TA before ordering our dinner. The salad was full of salt, the periniscos were gummy and the octopus was floating in a plate of oil. All in all we had disgusting food served with a sarcastic attitude by the French-speaking owner. To avoid at all costs."

"We were almost from the time to the midday en route from porto to galicien when we found os mareantes. the owner welcomed us speak very well English. we took a table outside, because the inner was very busy, as it was on Sunday afternoon. service was...slow, but friendly and eating was very good. good road stop."

"This restaurant is on the main road and has an outdoor seating area. The interior is spacious. We had three types of rissois for starters. My partner ordered polvo and I asked for lulas. The food was served with the usual potatoes and a tiny salad. The taste was all right but I swear there were only tiny slices of squid on my plate. So stingy. In other places I’ve eaten at, for less than that price, the serving would have been much bigger. It was too bad we didn’t go check out the side streets first where there were more restaurant options."
