"First job was working here many years ago and the delicious taste of Alpine often saunters into my mind around lunchtime. I 've worked at many sandwich places coincidentally, Subway, Jimmy John 's but there 's a homely, Chicago feel to Alpine in Elmwood Park. The food is delicious, I love the corned beef, roast beef and mushroom sandwiches. That 's what I wish more sandwich places had, delicious mushrooms. I 've seen the care that goes into the subtleties of ingredients. I fell in love with giardenaria here, I love a spicy sandwhich. In comparison Subway just flops the ingredients soullessly in a bowl, Jimmy John 's can be either meticulous or soggy, usually with little wiggle room in between. Alpine has a care behind the business, a character in its intimacy with the customer and a love for food. What I would LOVE to see is a collaboration with doordash, Grubhub or Uber Eats."
