"We were at the Palace for the spa and because of the rain we decided to stay for dinner at the Marlin. I hadn't read the reviews which was unusual for me but the spa, hotel and bar experience were top notch so I had confidence going to the restaurant. What a treat! We were early 6:00 pm so there was only one other table occupied. We received world class service from Livia who was attentive and professional. The presentation is part of the experience. The fish are brought to the table uncooked on a silver tray for you to inspect the freshness. We chose the sole. Livia recommended the champagne sauce and a side (the one with cheese) I don't recall the name of it. Livia plated the fish at the table and was very skilled. Amazing, delicious meal. From appetizer,bread, main course to dessert it was magnificent!!! It was expensive but well worth every cent! I will be back when I return to Switzerland."

"We (3 persons) had a late lunch at Des Balances. We enjoyed very much having lunch on the beutifully located terrace, just at the border of the river Reuss. The lunch was absolutely delicious and is at a comparatively good price for the quality and location. Service is very attentive and friendly. There were many wasps which also wanted their share of our lunch but the staff was very helpful. They sprayed some organic orange oil on the table cloth and provided us with small sprays which contained mineral water which finally helped to defend against the hungry wasps. So the wasps were not killed just chased away. We can really recommed Des Balances!"

"Heute wollten wir nach dem Shoppen etwas im Nix's in der Laterne trinken. Unsere Kinder hatten noch ein Soft-Ice in der Hand. Kaum am Tisch - wohl gemerkt, die Gartenbeiz war fast leer - wurden wir wegen der Glace aus dem Restaurant gewiesen. Begründung: " Bei uns gibt es auch Eis." Tja, wenn mans nicht nötig hat ... Absolut daneben!"

"We had some difficulty location this place as we were unaware the restaurant is within the Hotel Wilden Mann. The restaurant is in a traditional Swiss decor which was supposedly last updated in 1908. Shortly after we arrived a 17 person English tour group arrived...(pre planned) leaving a single server for the now 25 people in the restaurant. Sabrina did a remarkable job, but nonetheless our dinners were delayed. The fault was not hers, but the restaurant manager for not providing additional resources. When our meals finally arrived, the food was pretty good. Entrees start at about CHF 30. Our bill for two entrees, two glasses of wine and VAT was CHF 84."
