"No malty brews were found at Upland. I didn't care, I like IPAs, but some people in our group of 20 didn't like it. Yes, they were able to accommodate a group of 20 after an IU football game.The food was okay. I keep trying to find something that is in the amazing category at Upland. I don't. The beer is good. If they'd update the food offerings to have the taste and quality match the prices, it'd be better."

"The food itself was really good! The mozzarella sticks are definitely a thing you have to get to start your meal. The burgers were very tasty and they had some very inventive options. Also really cool that they offered tater tots. My problems were the following: The table was pretty sticky even though it had been wiped off The place was extremely hot inside... pretty sure the A/C was broken or something, but I was sweating from the moment I stepped inside, which was unpleasant. The burgers took awhile to come out even though it was not that busy. They got my wife's order wrong, but we didn't say anything because we didn't want to wait twice as long for another to come out. I would definitely like to come back and try it again, though, based on the fact that the food was really good."

"I visited for the first time earlier today with my husband. Service could've been much better. It took awhile for someone to come to our table and he didn't seem too friendly, just gave us our menus and left. The next guy that came to take our order was very friendly. Unfortunately after we got our food he only checked on us once maybe 5 mins after we got our food. He seemed too busy talking to the other young man up front. I had to go up to him to tell him we wanted the check. The food was pretty delicious. I got the brisket tray and liked all of it. My husband got the brisket sandwich. The bbq chips didn't have much of a bbq flavor though, they were more salty tasting. The price is affordable for what you get. I liked their sauces."

"OMGoodness!! The BBQ brisket sandwich was a slam dunk! The whole staff is very kind as well. I was lucky to be there when I was on a Saturday afternoon as it wasn't busy then. I'Il definitely be back. I LOVE small town BBQ!! . 11/19/22 SO GOOD! I got therib tips. The sweet young man offered to substitute the fries for something else being I had a long drive home, knowing thefries would be soggy by the time I got home!"

"I have to say, we have never been disappointed when dining here (short of being able to get a table on a busy evening). Breakfast/Brunch is fantastic. This review however is about my most recent visit on 4/8/22 while dining at the bar. My beautiful bride (of 28 years tomorrow) and I always prefer to dine at the bar. The restaurant was busy, but seating at the bar was pretty open. The draft beer selection is somewhat limited, although well thought out and selected. I opted for the shiitake mushroom smash burger and fries, and was not disappointed. The burger was perfectly seasoned and prepared, and the mushroom, Swiss combination was fantastic on a nicely toasted potato bun. My wife was the beneficiary of what may be one of the best sandwiches Bloomington has the offer (this is my official nomination). The Flying Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich was a special item, and I am hopeful that it becomes a regular offering. The chicken was perfectly breaded, and seasoned. The chicken was presented in a perfectly toasted bun along with hand carved smoked ham, pineapple and cheese. Seriously, this is something that we lucked into ordering and would now return frequently to enjoy. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS SANDWICH. Kudos Southern Stone. Nice atmosphere, menu and service."
