"Beautiful summer evening on a (relatively) nice patio at an Italian restaurant specializing in appetizers, with two lovely members of our family and my gorgeous wife. What could go wrong?I don't know about you but it seems to me one easy way to distinguish between a good restaurant and a so-so one is them having items in their menu, especially something as simple to order as beer, available when you order them. "Sorry, we don't have that." I know, it's complex, somebody puts something on a menu and then has to order it. When they don't it's an early sign of poor management that presages more trouble to come. Our server was clearly over loaded with tables and tried to keep up. We ordered five dishes, the first 3 of which showed up reasonably quickly. But not the last 2. People around us who arrived later got exactly the same as our last 2 dishes but no sight of our order. Clearly some servers had scooped out order to serve their table.Next sign of a poorly managed restaurant, our server disappeared as we tried to get her to track down our missing food. When she did reappear she fobbed the problem off on the kitchen, the other servers and anyone else she could think of.Later, after we discussed the situation with her manager and she was angling for her tip she became much more attentive and talkative.The food was okay, the arancini (deep fried risotto) was a family favourite, service was uneven and unprofessional and prices high for smallish servings. I am still looking for a good restaurant in Calgary."

"We eat at Ricky's quite often and are seldom disappointed; however we had a terrible experience at this particular location. I was served a very raw hamburger; so raw, that the bun was red with blood/juices. When I asked to have a cooked (at least warm) burger, they brought it back on the same dirty plate, instead of putting it on a fresh one, so the bun ended up wet again. I gave up at this point as my husband had already finished dinner. No discount, or apology was offered, which was disappointing."

"My group of 5 had only one evening in Calgary on our way to Yellowknife, and we were glad we chose Klein and Harris for dinner. They were very gracious and accommodating when one of our group was late due to flight delays. Everyone enjoyed...their meals, I had the spicy beef stir fry and a Tiki 99 cocktail. The slightly spicy finish on the cocktail was great."

"My wife and I were coming to a concert at Ramshead so we decided to double up and have our pre-show dinner there. We each had sandwiches and fries (nothing fancy) but it hit the spot, and we got a 10% discount and reduced parking because we also had concert tickets. Very convenient."

"I was there with my friend to celebrate her birthday. Started out well, greeted us at the door, complimentary Prosecco, very lovely. When we ordered I was asking about Gluten Free as I have Celiac Disease. They recommended the Veggie Burger. I said let's do...it and after a while the waitress came back telling us the Veggie Burger has gluten in it. My friend's pizza was ready and we wanted to eat together. Our options were she eat while I eat my little side salad, then I eat my burger alone. Or her pizza sits under hot lamps while they make a regular burger. I said I'd just eat a salad so we could eat together. I asked for chicken with my salad not knowing it was a 7 upcharge. The manager came over and apologized, said they were setting me up with a nice large salad so I could take some home, then they charged me 24 for the salad, which should have been comp'd as it was their screw up. I didn't even eat what I wanted. Poor service. If it wasn't for the lovely way the evening started I would give them no stars. Save your hard earned and get a nice meal elsewhere."
