"We have came here 8 times in a matter of about 6 months-1 year. The food has always been good. I wouldn 't say it 's the best bbq I 've ever had but it 's good for corpus restaurants. Now the reason I 'm leaving this review is the lack of supplies and the horrible management/service I have encountered while visiting Salty Oak. I had a sit down with the new Manager Mark last time I brought our family for a Mother 's Day lunch. I explained to him that even that time that I was there they were ALWAYS out of an item. Whether it be sweet tea, pickles macaroni, it 's multiple things. He told me that he would assure that this get brought to the owners attention and they would be stocked up. Well again today I brought my girlfriend to eat when we were going to go to Rudy 's since we live closer to Rudy 's but we went to Salty Oak because we had a good feeling about the new Manager Mark. Again today they were out of traditional pickles like your everyday bbq place has and the drink machine was down. We didn 't get service until 15 mins of sitting down and that was after speaking to Mark making sure he knew we were back to visit and eat. He could not accommodate anything with us not being able to drink what we wanted and when we got up to leave and told the other manager with glasses and a mustache that we would never come back and he said that 's okay you 're one in a million, it won 't hurt us. If he had accommodated me for something he would 've probably kept me as a customer but not only did you lose out on the entire meal we didn 't eat but a customer and a whole bunch Of people to follow. Take care and GOOD LUCK Maybe this is why we are literally the only people in the restaurant each time we go and y 'all had a tv promotion going today to help boost business."

"Excellent BBQ. Between my daughter and I we tried the pulled pork sandwich and the three meat P'o Boy. The beef was so tender, the spicy sausage so flavorful and delicious. Oh.. And that lemon meringue pie.. mmm. So happy we picked this place when ese were looking for Texas BBQ. We met Julian himself as we were leaving. We will be back!"

"First time trying this place. Everything was made to order and fresh. I ordered the shrimp poor boy sandwich and onion rings. It was huge portion and delicious! Boyfriend ordered ole burger and fries. We were skeptical at first but were pleasantly surprised by this place. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family."

"First visit, and probably last visit, too. Didn 't have the best experience here. While waiting for our table in the bar, the host or hostess gave away our table. No text, no chance to pass on the table, nothing. After about an hour (there was a 45 min wait we checked on table status and that is when we found out our table reservation was given away. Their excuse? We saw you sitting at the bar and assumed you wanted to stay there. Naw, dude, not how you should do things. Then, we had to wait forever to get out food. It was like we dropped to the bottom of the list. There were two bright spots, though. Our bartender Caitlin(? was awesome. And, the burger was actually quite delicious. I gave the second star for our bartender and the burger. Otherwise, it would be one star from me."

"Very nice place to grab a beer. Dogs were welcome and the patio area was great. Staff was helpful and informative about their drinks. They also have the best bock beer I've ever had with their Texas Bock! Still my favorite beer in the world. We love this place and will definitely be back in the future."
