"Max and Erma's is a run of the Americana Restaurant mill: the walls are covered with local and national decorations, from wacky to the ornament. When you go to Max and Erma, you expect the service to be moderate... the servers are competent, but not motivated to offer the guest an extra friendly or profound culinary experience. But the food itself is very good, especially her tortilla soup, the best soup I've ever had. The signature of Max and Erma is also the Laredo Steak, which is fantastic with butter and lime juice. Finally, the cheeseries are also fantastic, not with the fake Nacho cheese you will find in the stadium."

"I had a Brisket sandwich with mac and cheese as a side. Delicious brisket that melts in your mouth and very cheesy mac and cheese. I wanted to take a nap because it was hefty. I did get a side of yams but the $5 price tag wasn't really worth it. Overall though, a positive experience!"

"They should call this place “Bait Switches”. We were delighted to see their menu claiming that all burgers and sandwiches are served with hand cut fries (see photo). However, after mentioning it to the waiter, she said in fact the fries cost an additional $3.50. I pointed to the menu and showed her that it states that the sandwiches/burgers come with fries. She said that she knows it’s confusing but that it just means they are best served with fries and that they cost an extra $3.50…. If this is the case then it should also say “all burgers and sandwiches are served with an appetizer” or “burgers and sandwiches are served with dessert” or better yet, “burgers and sandwiches are served with another sandwich”. We decided to order our respective sandwiches and burgers as is and they in-fact were not served with hand cut fries. We also ordered our drinks during happy hour and the top of that menu said $2 off. When our bill came it was not $2 off per drink but $2 off the total drink bill. The food was fine. It wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t bad. If you decide to come here just be aware that they have a different understanding of the English language. I won’t be back."

"First time customer, gave them a try for 614 Restaurant Week. Order was ready for pickup on time. Food was excellent and a great value. Will definitely do again, soon. On a side note, during this time of an ongoing pandemic, the curbside pickup was done right. The waitress was right there taking names and returning with orders, completely painless and efficient. Looking forward to our next visit."
