"This is a very nice spot for a taste of a variety of Japanese dishes. The food was very fresh and we enjoyed the wide variety of 'tapas style dishes'. The only problem is the portions are so small and for the price you pay you can barely afford a meal that would completely fill you up. There were four of us we had around 10 dishes to share, with sake and desert the bill came to 160+$ and was still very hungry. Something to just keep in mind. Other than that it was a nice experience."

"This was my 2nd time and I loved it even more. Took the whole family for my sister's birthday. We had the pizza that was out of this world, great crust. Gnocchi, ravioli ... everything is so fresh and delicious. John, the owner, is a real gentleman and knows how to take care of his customers and the server we had that evening. I never felt rushed and could just enjoy the atmosphere and the great food. I highly recommend this restaurant. We look forward to a reunion."

"This is our new favorite restaurant in Edmonton. Tasty food and friendly service. The fact that it is vegan is a bonus and non vegans wouldn’t even notice. They have the best Ramen that I have ever had. Can’t wait to go back next time...we are in the city!"

"I specifically wanted to go here after having looked for Vietnamese places on TripAdvisor., as I love that cuisine and we unfortunately don't have a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in Cape Town. First little disappointment was that we were looking for a relaxed sit-down lunch, with some wine ideally, and at Hoang Long it's more a fast food style place you have to stand in a line then order yourself and you get buzzed when it's ready, grab a drink from the fridge and of you go. Obviously not their fault, just our misunderstanding. It was just after the main Canadian lunch time (we tend to go a bit later for lunch than the locals, not before 1pm so the place looked like a bomb had just exploded and we struggled a bit to find a clear table. I eventually found one that I cleared myself, but the table was covered in sticky soy or fish sauce or whatever and it wasn't too easy to attract the not overly friendly waitress if she could please give me a cloth to clean the table (at no point did she consider this should maybe be her job, not mine, but never mind, I just wanted to sit down The nearby washroom provided me with paper towels and water in the end (if I would have waited for the waitress to come to our help I would probably still have been sitting there waiting... , so table cleared and cleaned....eventually our food was ready, but unfortunately, that of my husband's (who was already not too impressed with the place so far , spicy beef on jasmine rice, was cold. He couldn't be bothered to bring it back so just had two bites. My seafood soup was nice be it a bit bland so I had to add a lot of soy sauce to give it some taste, but that can obviously just be a personal thing. I was planning to come back for the Vietnamese spring rolls, but unfortunately didn't make it any more before my departure so that will have to wait til next time."

"Like the title says. Food was good, new building, nice staff, prices WAY too high. location is on the south side of town, quite a ways away from where we were. The interior is small and awkward. The staff was nice and the food was decent but it was definitely not the best mango sushi I have ever had, The boyfriend got sashimi and liked it but it was a bit bland. The portions were quite large and impressive. I won't be back. Didn't stand out to me at all but just didn't have that "bring you back" vibe."

"It was my first time- I took a friend for the all you can eat lunch. She explained the process, that we got to pick a protein and cook it ourselfs on a salted rock slab. We both had the lamb, which was amazing. The serving size was quite large for what I 'd call a 'warm up ' to the sushi. The sushi itself was very fresh, prepared quickly. The all you can eat included a beverage which was nice, not every place I 've been to does that. We tried just about every type of creation on the all you can eat menu, and ate it all. It was well worth a trip and the value for the price was outstanding."

"Great food and reasonable prices. We saw everyone ordering Karaage Chicken but it wasn’t all that great, way larger pieces of chicken than I typically enjoy, but the pressed sushi was great. Definitely worth a visit. The only other knock I have is that when it gets really busy some of the tables are in some pretty high traffic areas. Not much that the restaurant can do about this but be wary if you were hoping for a quiet night out."
