"The crossing from Portsmouth to St Malo is fairly lengthy - and what better way to pass the time than to eat (and eat well!)?We had been told that there would be a queue outside the restaurant doors, so we made sure we were first in line. The charming reception staff directed us to a table by the window, which was just perfect for watching the harbour slip away in the evening light.We opted for the buffet, which involved a buffet starter, main served at the table and choice of buffet dessert.The choice was plentiful and fresh for the starter, the main (we both had duck) was sublime, pink and juicy, and the selection of desserts so vast and impressive that we could have eaten all of them - well, we tried!To think that this is a restaurant on a cross-Channel ferry is amazing - it took us back to the heyday of the silver-service restaurants on the shorter ferry routes some 30 years ago.Bravo, Brittany ferries - and their chefs!"
