"Really nice izakaya place with unique Japanese dishes that taste very authentic. Ingredients used are also very fresh and their wagyu is very tender. The wagyu and uni was definitely worth the price with a generous piece of wagyu that melts in your mouth, topped with a rich portion of uni. Sukiyaki, agedashi tofu and fried oysters were all amazing. Love this place!"

"Been here a few times, service always prompt. The food here reminds me of what we had when we were in Japan, particularly the tempura rice bowl and unajyu. One of the best unajyu in Sydney, probably the best in terms of value for money. My favourite though has to be the cold ramen that is only available during summer time. I must say I have not tried this particular style of cold ramen (usually noodles served cold and dipped in warm soup to eat), whereas this had a minimal amount of cold soup/sauce underneath the ramen and was sesame oil based i think. It was very refreshing and yummy! Though different from typical cold ramen, overall satisfaction of the dish is definitely up there with the likes of Rokurinsha in Tokyo. To give this review some balance, I agree with others that the standard soup-based ramen here is not great and loses out to others like Manpuku."

"I have to say ... The atmosphere was a bit too dark and damp. I originally did not have much expectation from the store, but the bartender lets us have second thoughts, the drinks he has made was very outside of my imagination, loved it very much and is very good with the food served. Will definitely go back for another glass of its specially made cocktails."

"Took my girlfriend at the time here for a birthday dinner, being a Japanese girl I thought it would be nice to cure her homesickness . How sadly I was wrong. Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted warmly, and the ambience is ordinary, glancing into the kitchen I saw a mixture of chefs and kitchen-hands but not a Japanese ( or asian) in sight. The menu is quite unique, to be honest they are trying to be too fancy for the sake of it. We ordered a variety of dishes to sample the menu and see what they had to offer, unfortunately everything underwhelmed and frankly disappointed. Cant remember all the details, but the chicken karaage was an AB-SO-LUTE- JOKE, it was deep fried stone like substance, with no resemblance to chicken karaage what-so-ever, it hard as a rock, like it had been sitting in the freezer since 1999 and dump in the deep fryer, I was almost going to send it back, but I didnt want to make a scene and cause embarrassment. After the $250 bill , Im not game to give it a second chance, there's nothing to be inspired about."
