"If I could give this place 10 stars I would. You can’t go wrong with craft beer and cheese. The craft beer selection is wonderful and they have so many unique types of cheese. Have some beers and try some cheese samples, you will not be disappointed. The staff is amazing. The bartender was friendly and fast. She took the time to talk with us, suggest certain cheeses and local beers. Our plan was to try a bunch of places in downtown Milwaukee, but this place was too good we didn’t leave until we had to go to the airport. My carry on was packed with as much cheese as I could fit in it. The next time I am in Milwaukee I will be back."

"Questionable at first, but ok in the end. OK, to be fair we arrived to eat at about 3 pm on a Sunday. We were greeted immediately by someone behind the bar and were seated in the first room, where I noticed no one else was seated. And then we waited. And waited. I got up to look for someone to at least hand us menus and found lots of other people in other rooms, but no waitstaff... I returned to the table and the bartender passed by and we stopped her and told her we'd seen no one. She was horrified, took our order, and everything was fine after that. "This used to be my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee, I told everyone to go eat here. Unfortunately, the food quality and menu offerings have gone down hill since my last visit. I ordered the spicy crab pasta. It had the slightest dusting of crab and the flavor got lost in the spicy sausage. The shallots in the mignonette sauce for the oysters tasted old and not fresh. The oyster mushroom app was just ok. I used to dine here and everything was exceptional. What happened? I'm so bummed."

"I recommend ordering a whole pizza (philly cheezesteak or vegan gyro are my fav), but they also normally have pizza by the slice. Today they had BBQ cauliflower vegan mac. The vegan bread sticks are yummy and they have several vegan dipping sauces. Updated from previous review on 2022-01-30"

"Been to Lakefront Brewery several times before. It has always been good, and this time was no exception. We had a couple of beers, and the Cheese Curd appetizers. All were excellent. We asked for a Summer Shandy, which they did not exactly have, but the bartender was gracious and added a little cranberry juice to a citrus beer that they had on tap. It wasn't exactly a Shandy, but it was very good. Appreciated the effort to give us something close.Took our beer/curds outside to the riverfront patio. This space has a great view of the river, and all the various recreational watercraft. Plenty of covered tables, or you can sit at the railings and look over the river. They have an outside stage and were setting up for a performance but we didn't stay to listen. Next time :"

What a lovely restaurant! I love the atmosphere, bbq decor, and how the whole restaurant focused on bbq, down to the bathroom. The service was lovely! We had a nice size group, and they didn't get any of our orders wrong, and they worked very hard. The food was amazing! The food was modern and innovative, which shows their appreciation for bbq. Also, the portion sizes are great, no baby food! All in all, DOC's Commerce Smokehouse is a lovely delicious restaurant!Vegetarian options: Unless you're coming for a salad or sides, DOC's is probably not the best for vegetarian meals.Kid-friendliness: The kids' menu is so great. They can color and pick their food right from the coloring/kids menu! Kids are welcomed.Parking: Theirs alot of construction around the restaurant. There was street parking, but it was best to secure parking in the area and walk around downtown Milwaukee.Wheelchair accessibility: There's wheelchair accessibility at DOC's. Nice size restaurant."
