"Muffins are top notch. As an enthusiast of this hearty baked good, these muffins, gluten or not, are worth the stop! Excellent main dishes also. Super fresh and tasty. The resto could improve by putting its earth health first food into earth health first packaging dishes. A sure to grow enterprise."

"The Discovery Room is the restaurant of the VIU Culinary Arts Program. The room is only open on limited days (see web) but is well worth making a reservation. A three course lunch was 24 per person for three courses , and tea or coffee. There is a good wine list as well. If you can, get a window table as the view on a good day from their hill location is out over the water to Vancouver."

"Take the halibut off your menu. I am embarrassed for you serving a sliver of dried up halibut, this really makes your establishment look bad. Your staff should be able to answer if one can tie up with their boat and come up for lunch, not very informed the staff considering they are on top of a Marina. The table beside us also talked amongst themselves of the awful hali....no but fish."

"Stopped by Brown's last night and was looking to get a seat in the main lounge area.... there were many empty tables, however, we were seated in a patio waiting area instead. We ordered a couple drinks... I had the red Sangaria which was tasty! I had the Cowgirl salad and found the portion to be average. The Chicken was dry... my friend ordered a gluten free dairy free pizza and was charged an extra $8 for additional toppings. Overall, my visit was very average."

"My two friends and I were enjoying a evening out on the town when we decided to stop by The Taphouse for appys and drinks. As we approached the restaurant, we saw the posted hours which specifically said the business was open until 11pm on Saturdays. It was barely past 10pm, and although the restaurant appeared empty, the lights were on and we saw two staff by the bar. We walked up to the door when one of the staff, a young man, had seen us through the glass door. Before we had a chance to open the door, the young man dashed towards it and locked it shut. He turned around and didn't even give so much as a second glance to the three prospective customers waiting confused in the cold. This was completely rude. As two of us had spent many years in the food and beverage industry, we know very well how imperative it is for a restaurant to remain true to their posted hours. And even if the pub had decided to shut down early (which is unwise), the man didn't even have the decency to open the door and explain to us that they were closed, and to inform us of the hours the pub is actually open, like any polite and respectable employee should do. As it was my birthday celebration, many drinks would of been consumed, and tips would of been givin. The Taphouse is guaranteed to never see the three of us, along with many of our friends, enter the restaurant."

"It was a very nicely prepared meal at a good value. I had the 7 oz sirloin that was perfectly medium rare and nicely spiced, with a herb risotto. Delicious. The service was prompt and professional. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$40–50"

"I stopped by there on my way to the ferry. The food was quick, fresh and we'll made (the sauce was properly portioned throughout the wrap so that every bit had flavor). Plant based and vegan friendly, I'm definitely stopping by every time I'm on the island."
