"Every year for the last 15+ years we have made a visit to the restaurant of this hotel for a ski lunch. It has been so good over the years, some of those lunches have lasted three hours. I am sorry to say that it is very unlikely that will be happening in the future after today 's visit. 15 years ago, as a Ski Club of Great Britain rep, I took groups of skiers to this restaurant as part of a day 's skiing from Meribel. The service by the English owner was exceptional. The food was excellent. Today, on out first visit since the refurb, the service was slow and sloppy, the food was pretentious and at best mediocre. In total, for 4 adults and three teenagers, the list of mistakes was: Not being offered a drink for about 20 minutes, the food taking ages, the menu enfant being ignored and adult meals served (and charged for), one of the seven not being brought their main meal for 10 minutes or more after everyone else, the deserts being given to the wrong people (because the waiter did not know what they were). And then the deserts being, well, rubbish. All in all very disappointing and left us reminiscing about the good old days of this hotel. And, for the record, the refurb inside looks naff. On the terrace, the glass screens have been removed. I 'm sure this will feel like progress for now but I can assure the new owners that will come back to bite them in the harsh winter. Any restaurant thinks it is cool in the covid era to offer the menu via a QR code, they are wrong. It is at best functional in and a restaurant of the previous calibre of this one is plain lazy. With virtually no one in the terrace we were not made to feel welcome and that is the biggest sin."
