"Fantastic Italian in the heart of Belfast. Go for doughballs, goats cheese crostini, and carbonara, paired with an amaretto sour and finish up with a cannoli."

"I have been going to villa Italia since I was a child. After our visit this evening on sat 23rd April we are sad to say we will not be back. The service was horrendous. The waitress was extremely unwelcoming, rude and completely disinterested in...communicating with us. Starters arrived with our mains, we were not asked if we wanted dessert, we were unable to order drinks for long periods of time and had to go and ask for the bill after being ignored for 20 mins. We then had to go and ask for a card machine after being ignored once again. While we understand that it was busy, the staff were actively ignoring us for most of the evening. The food was below average and lacked any real seasoning. We are hugely disappointed as villa italia has always been a very welcoming place in the past and somewhere we would have looked forward to going to."

"Merge feast puts the mmmmm in mumbai milano indian and Italian fusion eating that would not work properly? wrong! we visited this restaurant for the first time last night. what a way to celebrate our high-time anniversary! I had heard some good reviews about the restaurant, but to be honest I really didn't know what to expect. I am a solid lover of Italian cuisine and my wife is a recent conversion in Indian cuisine, so it seemed like a no-brainer. we have made the right choice. As soon as we entered the square, we could not help but be carried by the facility. the fastness and courtesy of the service. we were created in an opposite of stand-style seating that had an air of intimacy to it, by some tasteful lighting and design choices. the personal was friendly and efficient, especially liam, who was attentive and took the time to fulfill his role as host excellent. from taking through the menu to tell us something about the food and the ethos behind the fusion menu, he made us welcome and home. about eating, it was amazing. we had a 3-course menu that says in itself how we would normally only decide for 2 courses if for a meal. we just wanted to be worn by what is still being served. with each cure we decided to buy into the fusionsidee and mix something between the Indian and Italian menus. eating was nothing but amazing. without exception, each dish was presented beautifully and tasted great. what impressed me was the layout of the menu and the variety of dishes. it would certainly be something for every taste and age there, so it is the perfect place for a family celebration, date night or even pre-theater. I was also impressed by the pride of the restaurant to get food from local suppliers, they were on the back of the menu. What icing on the cake for me regarding this was something I did not want for one because my finger on. then I realized what it was. we were treated as guests. sounds daft really, like restaurants in the rule relate to them as guests, but I think that was the first time that I really felt as if it were true. I assume that if they merge two kitchens that have eat, family and friendship in the heart of their culture, that was always the case. well done at liam and his team, we will definitely be back!"
