"I am all Italian. I spend a few months each year in Italy. Next month will be my 18th trip to my homeland. It was so refreshing to enjoy a wonderful Italian meal in Bernardsville, NJ at Sette. The classy couple at The next table we’re speaking fluent Italian as was the owner Allan. The food was absolutely delicious. And at the end the owner, Allan, brought a beautiful panna cotta to the table with a candle in it singing happy birthday to our mother who turned 99 years old today. I wish I lived closer. I would eat there every day. It’s a long ride from Boston but I’ll be back soon enough. "Was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant but was disappointed in the end. The atmosphere is nice, but the service was awful.We waited 45 minutes for an appetizer to come out, and it was just prosciutto, melon and cheese... Which only takes a minute or two of prep time? Looking around, you could see many diners had empty tables and were looking around to see if their food was coming out yet. A couple nearby actually walked out, tired of waiting. We waited another 30-40 minutes after that for our entrees to arrive.Food was good, nothing to write home about. My fiancée 's pasta dish, the shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. All in all, it was 2 hours from the time we entered until we left for 2 people. Despite being comped a drink each from the house, I don 't think I would return due to the high price for bad service."
