The Isol was always a good Italian, but after my last visit before approx. 1 year I was completely disappointed"

"Our hotel receptionist recommended this section of Frankfurt ( i believe the Kleine Rittergass) for a change of scenery from the Rom and for the choice of restaurants. When we arrived it seemed like an area for young adults that did not get any action until 10pm. We stopped in a bar for a drink and the owner recommended Borsalino. It was chilly so we asked for a table inside. The waitress was very reluctant to give us a table stating they were all reserved at 8pm (it was now 7pm). We said we were not going to eat outside so they let us stay AND it was well worth our persistence. I had the homemade pasta which was delicious. The bread we ordered with the meal was a crunchy bread sprinkled with parmesan cheese and garlic! The meals were a la carte so no salad and bread was extra. I really wish I would have split a meal with someone in our party as the portions were ample for two when you add the bread and of course the wine! IF you are in the Kleine Rittergasse section of town I highly recommened this restaurant. We took a 10 euro cab ride from a hotel near the train station. well worth the trip. Funny though....we were still there at 8:15pm and only one other couple was inside the restaurant. I guess their 8pm party cancelled :)"

"This small, simple Italian restaurant does what it should do; serves excellent Italian food at a good price. the waiters are friendly and eating and the wee were excellent. not a romantic place, but for a decent Italian court this restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants in frankfurt."

"Das Lokal liegt in der Nähe des Eschenheimer Turms im Oederweg, etwas unscheinbar. Man könnte fast vorbeilaufen ohne es zu sehen.Die Küche schmeckt sehr gut, es gibt alle möglichen italienischen Gerichte.Ganz hervorragend waren die penne a la arrabiata, ausgezeichnet pikant gewürzt,so wie ich es seit Jahren nicht mehr erlebt habe.Das Ambiente ist nett, die Chefin(?) freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man muss auf das Essen ein bißchen warten, weil alles frisch zubereitet wird - das schmeckt man auch, vorallem die frischen Kräuter. Preislich, auch die Getränke bleiben im Rahmen.Wir gehen auf jeden Fall wieder hin."

"Secret tip! Just bombastic! The food is not only beautifully prepared, but also tastes exceptionally good! All pasta varieties are self-made and you also taste it! The gnocchis taste like wolves and are not overcrowded. Who isn't here definitely missed something! Price performance is right and the staff is just authentic and beautiful. Absolutely recommended!"
