"I've never eaten here. The people I have sent here for a drink have all eaten and loved it. Looks like way too much meat for me. I really like sitting at the bar having a cocktail or good mescal served with orange slices and chili. Drinks are in the $10 range and are expertly made by very good bartenders. No peanuts or goldfish for these folks - bacon strips! A glass of strips of bacon is the bar snack - botanas. Upscale spot but it's Playa so flip flops and cover-ups are cool."

"This pizza was the best I’ve had. Far and away. Truly exceptional. I heard that Salento was a gem prior to going and it exceeded my expectations easily. What I didn’t expect was the outstanding service. Fernando is absolute natural. He won’t get in your face (very refreshing after 7 days of wandering and exploring the living breathing 5th street, which is exciting in it’s own way), quite soft spoken, anticipated our needs and well obv versed in the menu. He understands that the star of the show is the food and in doing so, added another positive layer to the overall exp. I will be considering every aspect this visit the gold standard. I ordered the Greca. A must try for olive lovers."

"We visited Axiote in 2018 and we were so impressed we made a special trip to come back in 2022. The food and atmosphere is excellent we had a really friendly waiter who was happy to explain any of the dishes. We had appetisers...and a humus style starter where the Humus had been mixed with pumpkin seeds and some spice it was awesome. We also had pork tacos and the lamb tacos which are so good they should be illegal. They also have a variety of special dishes on, in case you don’t fancy tacos, only wish we could visit more often. If you’re in Playa Del Carmen, make sure you visit this place, if you don’t, you’re missing out"
