"Good Cakes and Bakes … ooo weee.Danielle told me that the baked goods I purchased were going to make me think somebody’s grandma was in the kitchen…she was right. I bake, so I know quality goods. JUST like there’s a fashion BAKED goods place in our area that uses boxed cake mix. I bought four different items but only two pictures are attached. I bought a vegan brownie for a coworker who I asked to give me her honest opinion…she loved the vegan brownie. She said it was delicious and moist; she’d definitely have it again. I shared a spinach, tomato, feta quiche with my sister and she loved it (I wanted it to have more feta, that’s just me). I treated myself to TWO slices of rum cake and a slice of lemon velvet cake. Baaaby, when I tell you that I was excited about my choices. I know I shouldn’t buy a whole cake or go there every week, but I have absolutely found my new bakery for when I want sweets that meet both my approval and desires. The rum cake has the perfect amount of rum; my hand is a little heavier. That lemon velvet cake…I deserved every moist morsel of the three layer cake with real frosting. Rename the place … GREAT CAKES AND BAKES…grandma’s spirit is in the kitchen."

"One of the best restaurants I've ever been to was amazing. It is located in the shinola hotel building so that the bathroom is shared with other restaurants in the hotel, but it is very nice and clean. We had a reservation for 6 and they mistakenly gave us a table for 4. They did it on us by giving us two reviewers on the house where amazing. We ordered a variety of appetizers and they were all incredible, especially the lamb balls and the Focaccia Barese. The ducks were also very good, from ravioli to pizza and ribeye. They were all very good and fresh. Remember, the menu often changes every few months, so the same stuff cannot be available. The service was great, and I will definitely come back after how great the food and the server (Ibrahim) and managers were."

"Was looking to try something new before attending a concert downtown and was highly disappointed in the service. Ordered drinks and one of the drinks (which was asked for on the rocks) was served with no ice, so asked for ice and it took 15 minutes. The food menu was very limited, we were informed that a lot of the items were unavailable. From the limited selection we choose catfish nuggets, fries and egg rolls. Waited about 25 minutes for food and it was given in Styrofoam containers, no silverware, no napkins, no condiments. Waitress dropped at table and left, and trying to get her attention was near impossible. She was busy talking to other waitress or the phone. The other waitress was busy taking selfies and on Facebook live. Asked for water twice. What's even crazier is that it was probably 5 people sitting at the bar and another 10 people sitting at tables on the dining floor, so was not that busy. Finally got her attention for silverware and condiments. The worst part is that they charge 20% gratuity for party of 2, so poor service doesn't matter because they will receive a tip regardless. I would understand 10% then if service is good we would tip extra but 20 for 2 people seems wrong. They only reason I gave 2 stars was because the food was actually pretty good, but poor service can ruin a meal"
