"Exceptional service!! Eleni (I’m sorry if I misspelled your name) was an incredible host!! I have never had someone so attentive and who seemed so invested in ensuring our dinner was incredible.We arrived for an early dinner at 4:30. There was only one other table. The gauchos came quickly. We should have made better use of the stop and go card. I told Eleni that I had an allergy to bell peppers and she had the chefs make me special dishes!The meat was mostly medium well but I think that was because we were the first table and got the ends. It was super tasty though. The cucumber tomato feta cheese salad was a delight. The only disappointment was the cheese balls when we have done Brazilian restaurants before they were light and airy and these were dense.Parking: We parked on a nearby street and there were parking lots nearby."

"The appetizer we ordered Calamari was uncooked, and the chop salad I ordered was terrible flavors make no sense if they had left the sun-dried tomatoes that would have been better, who brings Italian flavors with dill and eggs and paprika? Cuck."

In-depth reviewSashimi - One of the main highlights that makes Asahi stand out from the majority of Japanese restaurants in Winnipeg, are their sashimi. I've dined at majority of Japanese restaurants in Winnipeg, only to be disappointed by half-frozen or sickening warm sashimi. Asahi Sushi, is one of the very few places in town that places the utmost attention to chilling and preparing their sashimi to optimal temperatures so that it doesn't come out warm or frozen. I've been to Tokyo's famous fish market, Tsukiji, and have had the pleasure of tasting the sashimi there, and let me tell you. The taste is out of this world altogether. Asahi Sushi comes closest to offering that same experience. Sushi -Let's get one thing straight, making sushi is a complex art. There's more to it than just rolling a bunch of ingredients into rice and seaweed. It is an art I believe the sushi chef's at Asahi Sushi have down pat. All of the sushi, that I've ordered from them to this date, has always been carefully crafted, to prevent everything from falling apart before it makes it to my mouth. Again, this should be a given for any sushi restaurant, but you'd be surprised at what a lot of places in town are offering these days. The portions are generous as well, and they don't stuff your roll with just rice (seasoned sushi-goers will be able to relate.) My personal favorites are the Caterpillar "
