"For a change from Mexican food, my family decided to check out Fonda Argentina based on decent reviews. The steak and sides were delicious. I ordered the 800 gram Ribeye steak, which for my americano friends translates to 28 ounces, which is massive! Served simply on a wood cutting board, it reminded me of how meat is done in Argentina, so props to the restaurant for its authenticity. They had really nice highchairs for our little one, which was also nice.Based on food, I would have definitely given 5 stars. But the service was actually really poor. Even though we were one of only a couple patrons, we probably waited 45 minutes for our food, and could never seem to get the attention of waiters for drink refills or requests. And we must have asked for our check 4 times, and for some reason it took a full 30 minutes to bring, which is not fun when you have 2 kids who are finished with their meals and ready for bed. Once the check finally came, no one would come over to take my payment, so I eventually had to walk up to someone and ask them to run my card. Prices were higher than most restaurants we visited in Playa Del Carmen, but for 2 steak/chicken entrees, sides, and non-alcoholic drinks it came to around $60 USD, which still isn't bad for a nicer steakhouse. It's unfortunate that the service took away from what was a delicious meal of quality food."

"Best place ever!!!!! Celebrating our 6th month anniversary here, awesome place. AMAZING service, this is total plus I’m so happy we’ve got the experience the Alessia experience, and foooood!!
