"The restaurant itself is dark and cozy and the staff were epic. We did the Trust the Chef menu and we were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of food (almost even too much), and the vegetarian was also well catered for. We absolutely loved the fried oyster mushrooms, which is something we may not have selected ordinarily. The Beef short ribs was also beautiful. A few small issues with undercooked fish that was quickly addressed and the replacement dish was pure redemption and utterly delectable. Carrot side dish was slightly hard and could have been roasted a bit more. Vegetarian tortellini dish was a bit strange with weird textures and flavors that did not quite meld well together and the sticky toffee pudding was slightly underwhelming. Overall, a lovely family dinner on our first visit to Christchurch."

"I spent a week in Christchurch for work and ended up here twice because the food was quite possibly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Get the platter, it is worth it. Those chips are something else, the perfect floof inside and crisp on the outside. I will be coming back if I find myself in Christchurch again. There is a nice atmosphere, I’m not an outside eater at all but I was comfortable enough the first night with the heaters and we ended up with a table inside the second night. The service was great, wines were flowing and food was served quickly. Yum, thanks O.G.B you are a fond memory now."

"Loved the main meals, would have given full marks only the dessert was a real disappointment. Ordered chocolate mouse encased in chocolate. But was really let down by the size of it. It was laughable. It would have been the size of two chocolates. They gave us a dessert spoon to eat it with, but the dessert spoon was bigger than the whole dessert. (the price was only $5 for this, but they would have been better to double it and charge $10) Will go back again, but wont be ordering dessert."

"It's OK. Not as great as it used to be. I decided to take friend there after having many good memories of amazing food and impeccable service, not to mention great Atmosphere. Was disappointed tho, the food was good..ish..but the service....was just a deal breaker.. I get that sometimes things are rough at work but when that carries over to customers that's a problem. Don't know if I would go back in a hurry and wouldn't really recommend to friends and family again...not with the other choices available."

"From its lifestylish outdoor arrangement to its indoor castle Inn terior, this Italian specialty is one of my favorite places Christchurch has to offer. The service is top notch and the food is seriously very delicious from its small but accommodating anti pasto starter to its Carne Pizza mains, my only gripe is the price for starting dishes such as the Baretta salad which is a plate of leaves for $22 which is silly really even for fine dining. However this is compensated by the fantastic service, delicious pizzas and crazy fun nightlife <br/ <br/ The pizzeria that keeps on giving. By evening Beretta is mature wifh class and by late is transformed into a sprawling tranche of the Christchurch night life. I do love this place, great cocktails. Recommendable to all."

"The most incredible delightful service, they are so thoughtful lovely and kind. The food is so fantastic, one bite and I knew the best fried chicken I've ever had! And the big boy milkshake lives up to its name. So I know the chips and gravy will be excellent. Cheers to a great chef!"
