"Dined here on a quiet Saturday lunch; a small fine dining Italian restaurant with some tables and a few counter seating at the wine bar. Had the following from the menu: Complimentary bread with olive oil was ok Poach lobster dish; one of the specials off the menu, the lobster itself was good; soft and sweet. But didn't enjoy the rest of the dish; the foamy cream using lobster head didn't have much flavour and the capsicum cake was soft and soggy; not much texture to the dish Red prawn crudo; very fresh and sweet tasting, bursting with concentrated flavour from the prawn and basil oil. The pear shards added a nice thin crisp to the bite Spaghettini was cooked perfectly with large chunks of juicy and tender moreton bay bugs; sauce was savory with a mild garlic taste and the rocket leaves helped soaked up the sauce Chocolate and orange delice; a well balanced dessert, the orange jelly layer in the delice added another dimension of flavour complimenting the sweetness of the chocolate, sorbet was refreshing and the chocolate soil had a pleasant mix of flaky and crispy textures instead of the generic crumbly biscuit soilOverall the dishes ordered from the main menu was delicious and the service was great."

"The calamari rings were fresh and delicious. Our main was Linguini Marinara which was cooked after we finished the entree and minestrone soup. In the main, the scallops, calamari strips and prawns were very good but the mussels were a bit tiny. Wood fireplace and nice deco makes a good atmosphere."

"My wife and I visited this restaurant for her birthday last year and really enjoyed it. We decided to to do the same this year. What we didn't realise was that it had changed hands. It soon became obvious that the new owners do not...have a clue... my steak was served rare instead of medium and the soufflé that we were looking forward to sharing wasn't cooked. When we sent this back to the kitchen there was no apology just two sparkling red wines arrived on our table. The evening was topped off by witnessing an argument between another dining couple and the head chef when the latter refused to honour a gift certificate. I hope that the gentleman took the new owners to Consumer Affairs. The actions of the head chef have no doubt lost this restaurant at least four customers, who will never return!"

"Surprised by the poor reviews below considering this one of the best Thai meals I have ever eaten! <br/ <br/ We did end up over ordering (a little annoyed with the waitress as I asked if we had ordered too much and her indication was 'no ' but mainly due to the fact the portions are very generous. 5 people did not need 3 rice (twice as big as most restaurants and ordered one too many mains (although we still ate it! . <br/ <br/ Starters: Chicken wings simple with fiery chilli sauce: Chicken satay delightful with light, just cooked chicken: diced duck lab ped was the only disappointment as it was tasty herb/spice wise but could not recognise the duck.<br/ <br/ Mains: Beef cheek divine as was the rib eye: mushrooms beautiful, Chinese broccoli scrumptious, chicken noodles tasty although provided the right level of blandness considering all the other tastes going on!<br/ <br/ And to cap it all, Friday is Happy Hour form 7 10pm!! Bottles of wine for $25/30! Cocktails half price.<br/ <br/ The place itself is small and a little cramped result is you either sit at the bar or on stools at tables. So can get a little uncomfortable if you 're ploughing through so much fabulous food.<br/ <br/ 3rd visit in May 2018 not quite up to the standard of the previous two visits: son in law eggs a touch on the bland side (although chicken satay still excellent . Stir fried chicken a tad too salty. But still large portions!"

"I'm fortunate to have eaten with the Meat & Wine Co a few times in various locations, but my recent experience at this new location was INCREDIBLE!Was in Melbourne for business with some very important clients and we were based in South Yarra so what better place to take clients to impress them?!Naturally the ambience was as per their other restaurants - a warm and inviting interior with comfortable chairs and good size tables. Menu is always plentiful with matching wine selections of equal quality.As you would expect, the Steak was truly exceptional, cooked to absolute perfection and so tasty, beautifully marbled and just enough rarity to hold the juices flavour.Staff were attentive and polite, wine superb. $1000 for 5 was cheap but there was a few wines in there - honestly this really is one of the best meals I have ever had! Absolutely 5 stars."
