"This place is so cool! We could not wait to eat in a train car once we read about this restaurant. It did not disappoint. The best food ever! They make a GOOD hamburger! My kid couldn't have agreed more! He loved his pizza. Everyone was so friendly. Service was just amazing all around! Hard to come by these days. I loved the Dean Martin Frank Sinatra hits that were being played. Think I heard some Benny Goodman as well. That was a very nice touch! Can't wait to go back!"

"Warning for those looking for Italian food in Mt Shasta California. My husband, my daughter and I stayed in Mt Shasta for dinner on Oregon's way home the weekend after Thanksgiving. We came across the Italian restaurant Piedmont, looked like a beautiful place. We sat fast, which was great, as we had a very hungry 18 mo. Dude with us. The owner even brought her a few crackers to keep her. We ordered a plate of pasta with butter for the baby that just came out in time to keep them happy. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and my husband ordered the Ravioli with Alfredo. All meals include soup, salad, relish plate, ice cream and coffee. It started going downhill. The soup comes in a bowl (Family Style, enough for a pan with something left each. Soup wasn't bad... wasn't great... but was not bad. Then came the salad and relish plate. Salad HA HA HA when you look at a small oval plate with shredded salad, two slices of pickled beans, cold green beans, a few thin slices of white onions and oily a salad for two. But we ate it. We were hungry; we were on our way for a few hours. On the main course... the Ravioli was terrible! Much over boiled. It was basically alfredo mush. As far as spaghetti is concerned, I never had spaghetti that tasted like Klove (like a Christmas ham! . Let me be the first to tell you that not well. I took a bite and decided that this would just not work. The waitress is coming over to see if we like our ice cream and some crates. I let them know that the food was terrible and that we were not happy. To whom she answers, "Oh, I'm sorry, let me see what I can do and make sure you let the owner know." She brings me the check and tells me, “I just accused you of soup and salad.” I thanked her and went to the register. I tell the owner of our experience in their restaurant. I declare the mushy raviolis to which she reacts “humm he must have boiled”. And the meat sauce tastes like cloves. No comment. I'll sign my credit card slip and go to the car where my husband is waiting to eat something edible. I started thinking that $30.00 seemed like a terrible amount for two soups and salads. I went back and asked the owner to explain how two soups and salads cost so much money. She says, “You were better with what you had, here let me show you.” She pulls out a menu and tells me they accused us of the soups and salads we ate. Soup and bread $6.75 and salad $5.50. Now this is per person! Our original meal the spaghetti was $10 something and the raviolis were $12 something. So they paid us $11 for an apology for a salad we shared and $13,50 for a bowl of soup we shared! She was very rude and didn't apologize for the food being bad. I told her that oral propaganda is the best advertising she reacted to that we have a lot. Well, now she does. Perhaps it must take into account that they not only take care of the regular ones they need, but also the travelers."
