"My first visit to Stuttgart (on business), staying in Zuffenhausen. I walked into what looked like the town centre looking for a place to eat, and found Klosterkeller. I don 't speak German and the staff speak little English, but we managed to communicate enough for me to order though I wasn 't quite sure until it came what I actually ordered. I didn 't note the full name of what I ordered, but it was a steak with a mushroom sauce served with spaetzle. It was very good, as was the beer. Staff were friendly and helpful, and gave me a free schnapps. Only downside was that there was no dessert available."

"I ordered the Dry Aged Bone-In Ribeye and the waiter returned 10 minutes later to inform me they didn’t have the Bone-in Ribeye. I then ordered the T-bone and asked when our starter would arrive. He said right away and I didn’t see him again for 30 minutes. I then asked him why we hadn’t been served our starter. The waiter seemed confused as to why I was asking where my starter was 40 minutes after ordering. He blamed the kitchen. Meanwhile, a couple arriving after us had already been served their starter and were enjoying their main course. We finally received our starter a full hour after ordering. We finally received our main at 1 1/2 hour after ordering. I have been eating here once or twice monthly for the past year and a half. The service has always been great and timely. What makes this even more frustrating is that the waiter attempted to deny that I had waited this long or that waiting this long was an issue! He simply pointed the blame on the kitchen and acted as though I were ungrateful to be asking for more timely service. I barely saw the waiter throughout dinner. I ran out of water! As we were leaving neither the manager nor the waiter offered any apology for the obvious poor service. I normally leave a generous tip regardless of the service. Tonight, I could not leave a tip, the entire experience was ruined by such poor service."

"We visited the Eberhardstrasse Block House on my 60th, and it's as good as ever. On a Monday evening, there was plenty of room, and a relaxed atmosphere. Didn't stop the servers moving like greased lightning, mind, but room enough for a party of 15, including kids, to be reserved, greeted and absorbed into the restaurant without any additional fuss or noise.The food was cooked as desired ('Englisch' is an awkward one to do well), of excellent quality and sufficient. The drinks menu has shrunk over the years, with only pilsner, weiss-bier or alcohol-free beer available, a small choice of wines and (Shock horror!) no Cointreau to go with my coffee. Still, it's a steak restaurant, not a biergarten.6 of us, with drinks, main and coffee, was €230, not bad for the quality and service. I guess I go there twice a year, and this experience keeps me faithful to them. Incidentally, note that the steak menu items include a salad starter, baked potato with sour cream and garlic bread, so it's a good place to start from..."

"In Block House, right at Stuttgart Main Station, I think there are the best steaks in Stuttgart, unfortunately the sicvh makes the restaurant pay well. The prices are not exactly cheap, but the taste is very good, great quality. The service is also friendly. Often you have to wait for a free table, so it is best to reserve a few days in advance."
