"Before I continue with my review, I must mention that I love supporting local, small businesses. My intention on leaving a less than four star review (I would have left 2.5 stars, but rounded up) is never to jeopardize the reputation of the restaurant. However, as a consumer that appreciates honest reviews, I must leave truthful feedback.My experience is a reflection of a carry out order from last week. Here were a few concerns that I had.1. You may want to call before you go to The Blacksmith. According to their Google Hours they are open until 9:30pm, and I called between 7-7:30pm to place an order for carry out. I was respectfully informed that my order needs to be placed by 8pm because they were slow, and would be closing early. I was surprised to hear this as they open at 4pm. Unreliable hours are something that as a customer I can get frustrated with (especially if it's not noted on their Google Business Profile). On another occasion, my husband and I wanted to go there for a date night at around the same time in the evening, and were turned away (this was a couple of months ago).2. Their menu may not be a reliable source of information.As part of my order, I got a side salad.What I was expecting as detailed exactly by their menu: SIDE SALAD Greens, tomato, cucumbers, red onions, eggs, cheese blend and croutons What I received: Greens with a couple of chunks of cucumbers.I was also surprised that the side salad was $5. Very sub par quality for what the price is. I would pay $5 for a great side salad, but I wouldn't have even expected to pay $1.50 for what I received.3. I also tried the Ribeye Steak Sandwich. I was looking forward to a larger, tender piece of meat on a fresh hoagie, but was disappointed when I received small, not-so-tender pieces of meat on a dry hoagie bun.4. Their French Onion Soup was a plus for me! It was not too salty, and had a hint of sweetness to it. And I believe it would have been even better if I had eaten it in the restaurant!I am hoping that my experience isn't an accurate representation of The Blacksmith as I had high hopes for a well marketed, nice restaurant."

"Consistently amazing food and service. Atmosphere is like no other restaurant within 100 miles, and you can always count on a quiet relaxing meal. If you don’t live in the town of Washington, get in your car and make the trip. You will be planning your next visit before you leave the restaurant. I already made reservations for their Sunday brunch for Easter and Mother’s Day because it will fill up quickly. If you have a reason to spend the night and need a place to stay, be sure to check out their rooms upstairs. It’s like staying at a bed-and-breakfast."

"Omg one of the best places to eat! I got ribeye steak (from this world), pancakes, German fries and over simple eggs, my man got kekse and gravy, land fried steak, eggs and toast. - aazing! the portions are huge, the price worth and so good I was full, but could not stop eating. very good, I give this place a 10 out of 10 and an a review. yummmmy!"

"Great view of the racetrack but unfortunately the lights on the track were shut off about 5 minutes after we were seated. Very nice wine list. Some wonderful and affordable options as well as opportunities to splurge. Steaks were good and sides decent but not exceptional. The Brussels sprouts were flavorful but were mushy. Only one side was browned. Desserts were good. All in all, a good option for a steak dinner."

"Steaks were underdone, sent back, then overdone. Being there at 3ish on a Saturday afternoon, I would have expected faster service. Previously, I have had good experiences at Del Frisco's so I will try again. Cheesesteak eggrolls are still great."
