"We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Gill in Rouen. We were told that this was the best French restaurant in town and I could see why. We were awestruck when we first walked in the place which had an amazingly aesthetic elegant look to it. We arrived to an empty restaurant which filled quickly. The best part of our dining experience was easily the 2015 Meursault Vin Blanc half bottle. It was crisp, clean, fresh, and delicious tasting. It was so good we ordered a 2nd half bottle ! We ordered the 4 plate appetizer for us both. It was lovely and featured the fois gras, eel, crab, and lobster. We next ordered the sea bass and pigeon entrees and then finishing with the recommended dessert vanilla pastry. I found the pigeon to be easily the most tasty item tried which was nicely complemented by a glass of Volcae Rhone blend red wine. Overall, this was a lovely dining experience highlighted by an amazing white wine and pigeon entree. The appetizers seemed to lack a bit for me which in the end prevents this place from receiving a TA 5 rating."

"We reserved for a group of 25 people on a monday night,they were waiting for us when we arrived, they had a nice little room reserved only for us inside the restaurant,i was skeptical at first because only 1 waiter was assigned to us all, but the guy did such a great job that it was like they were 3 waiter taking care of us,he took order rapidly and brang us wine and tapas while we waited for the starters,all the food arrived at the same time during the whole night,food was great, but not the best i ever had.the wine card is pretty well furnished, they have some really good wine availabletapas were really good too, we had a mix of foie gras, cold cuts, and french cheese.i had the salmon maki with a pea and mint purée for starter,for the main dish it was a pork ribs with a dried tomatoes sauce and red bell peppers,and for dessert i had a frozen nougat covered in a chocolate sauce,plus the waiter brang us for free 2 rounds of shooters at the end of the meal.portions may be small if you are a big eater, but at the end, you feel full without being overfed.all the staff was super friendly,i'll come back next time i go to rouen"

"L'affiche correspond à ce qui est réellement servi, des hamburgers XXL aux goûts et viandes variés, des frites maison non surgelé, une déco qui va vraiment bien avec l'idée d'un resto américain et surtout une équipe en OR, toujours aux petits soins, malgré le rush (je tire mon coup de chapeau) et avec le sourire, ainsi que l'équipe de l'ombre en cuisine qui assure une qualité de cuisine sans faille, merci à vous ;) PS: penser à réserver, certain soir c'est complet."

"We had struck out quite a bit trying to find decent yet affordable food in the area. In doing a quick search of the area, discovered this amazing gem of a restaurant which provided a much needed uplift in comparison to the mostly bland French fare of the area.Get the empanadas and the carne asada which were quite delicious. It was very busy and noisy outside as it's located next to a popular college/young adult bar which spilled out into the streets, so if you don't mind some local louder culture for your meal, then I would highly recommend La Pena."
