"This is a decent place that offers a variety of stick to your ribs homestyle Japanese dishes including ramen, yakisoba, omu rice (egg omelet over fried rice), etc.To state the obvious their prices have gone way up reflecting the current state of the economy, understandable. The service remained quick and efficient. We got the yakisoba, the omu rice and a side of gyoza. They were all reasonably satisfying.I will have to say that the chefs here are not judicious about their use of MSG here. We all got major headaches after the meal. If you have a high tolerance for this, it should be OK.Also note that it is somewhat annoying to get to this place. You have to overcome the usual Costco traffic, and only will you then find the restaurant coiled and tucked in a little stripmall."

"One of the few places that still has a soup and salad bar. I always get the salad bar. My favorite salad bar items are the fresh veggies, greek salad and crab salad. The specialty salad items can be very good also. For entrees, I like the Salmon and Barramundi and I sometimes get the Chicken club or the burger. My wife likes the jumbo grilled shrimp entree. The servers are very attentive."

"The first time I went to Tobang, I left a somewhat scathing review simply because I was chased down by staff for a tip (I’m a college student). I ended up coming back out to Tobang a couple more times and I should update my response: Tobang is a Korean BBQ (KBBQ) location in Santa Clara that features meals in sets, optimal for parties of 3-4 people. There’s a reason the restaurant is typically bustling: the food is of quality and there tends to be a lot of extra small dishes that are on the house. I typically get combo A, which features (I want to say) bulgogi, seafood pancake, and anotherm meat of choice (I typically choose kalbi). This came with the traditional korean spread of all those cute little side dishes: sometimes I got japchae, beansprouts, almond jelly, kimchi, sweet fishcakes, potatoes, rice paper, pickled radish, the weird but delicious crunchy stuff and others. The last time I went with friends, we got tteokbokki on the house, as well as corn cheese. Every meal is served with three dipping sauces (sesame oil, gochujang, and fish sauce) as well as water. K pop is usually blasting on the speakers. It is such a bustling ambiance. The staff is like the eomma you would imagine: very efficient, great at service, a bit hard but very kind. I would eat here again. It is just a bit cramped at times."

"Me and 4 girlfriends went to San Jose/San Francisco to celebrate my birthday! I wanted a nice steak dinner to celebrate. I started searching Google maps and found Birk’s. I loved that they took reservations and had their last reservation at 830pm so we had enough time to get back to San Jose to change and be ready for a nice relaxing dinner! Birk’s happened to be in an cooperates office area so as I was driving around to find it, which I missed the original entrance, finally found it on the East side of the buildings. Parking was definitely easy to find at 830pm. But I could see if the offices were open it may be a bit of a challenge to find a close spot. We walked in and was greeted immediately. We were sat at a nice table that could see the kitchen. We ordered drinks and appetizer calamari and then a wedge salad for myself. The rest of the meals were the filet mignon with blue cheese and port wine, sea bass with black rice and prime rib with Lobster Mac and Cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection! This was a wonderful birthday dinner and I would recommend this for a nice dinner or celebration!"

"I love to dine here. The bar has super friendly and attentive staff. The food is always pristine and if I'm undecided, someone is always there to offer a wonderful suggestion. I will admit, the parking is Insanity. I will circle and circle and circle before finding a parking space and it always on the other side of shopping plaza but the food is always well worth it. If you are impatient at all, this is NOT the place for you."
