"This was a spare of the moment lunch stop on our way to Edinburgh for 2 Aussies that had no clue what it would be like. We were not disappointed at all, great pub, delicious food and wonderful service. The manager and my hubby had a great chat about whiskey, he gave hubby a few tips on some good ones to buy while in Scotland. Highly recommend The Rowan Tree, the Ale Pie and cheesecake were delicious. Thanks so much for a great lunch"

"Had a wonderful meal here for a works night out. Food was superb. Small family run, all food made to order nice to get away from the chains and find an independent. We ere the last guests there and the chef came out and had a chat with us. I will be back."

"The menu has a large selection of steak sandwich and salatable. the customer service was not very attentive to our all necessaryness, nothing was much annoyed. our server was margo who had a very warming and fantastic setting. the steak was perfectly cooked and very tasty. the salatable is well filled with plenty of fresh products available. we would definitely come back and look forward to our next visit."
