"Eaten at Raijin twice in the past few weeks: solo lunch and early dinner with the fam. Had the Tonkotsu Ramen both times with extra pork belly: excellent broth (might be a bit salty for some and noodles perfect texture. Portions are LARGE, so smaller...appetites should order small (option for all ramen . Lunch time was very busy (lots of students? but service still speedy and very friendly."

"I always search for places that exist for a long time, this place has been there since 1940. I was looking for Canadian Cusine, it was the next one I could get with a meatloaf with a big engraving. And it was very nice, homemade flavor, Confort food.... The only reason I didn't give 5vstars was because my wife, who did not eat meat, asked for a vegetarian pack (very good, she said) with side salad and they sent it with BACON! Vegetarian food with salad and bacon? But. Okay, I took the bacon and we survived."

"This place is a hidden jewel! I visited several places with Mexican food in the city, but no one like this place. We had Tacos Carnitas, pastor, sopes and all incredibly deliciously packed with lots of meat. Your house sauces are very hearty. I felt I was back in Mexico! I had a refreshing horchata that was so good, lots of cinnamon and just the right amount of sweetness for a perfect summer day. It was so good that we bought extra food to go, that was as amazing it was."

"We were a group of 5 for Sunday Brunch. It was a unique style brunch with the little starter plates to have with the flat bread. Then you can select your omelette. I had the mushroom one which was great. Others in the group had...the sausage one, the feta and spinach and the date (sweet). Good size strong coffee included. The seating was a little tight for five and very dark lighting for brunch more light would be nice for the middle of the day. The omelette is served in a small skillet which is dangerously hot two of us burnt our hand on the handle. They need to rethink how they serve this because the combination of the tight space on the table and that very hot handle seems very dangerous. Overall everyone enjoyed the food."

"My friends and I ate here last night for the first time, prompted by the strong reviews. It was excellent. The owner/server (Biru) is a very pleasant, friendly and welcoming man. He discussed food options with us and recommended some dishes based on our desires. All the food tasted wonderful, with lovely aromatic smells great portions. The food was not served immediately, which told us it was cooked to order and therefore served hot and fresh; we appreciated this. Will definitely return."

"Great food. Friendly service. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options. Food is yummy but also nourishing, healthy and delicious options on menu. Good quality, home made meals that feed the brain. You can see that the owners make every effort to make the menu appealing as they are constantly making additions or little tweaks.You can eat in the cafe or take away. Bubbie's chicken soup is a treat to get you through the cold months. Jamaican patties are a new option that seem to be in much demand as they were sold out before I could try the lamb/pumpkin one. Wild rice pudding with a dash of sour cream was the perfect complement to my expresso. There is a sense of community in the cafe. It is a family friendly spot. Strollers come and go. And yet it is also a spot where you can plug in a lap top and get some work done. Daily newspapers available.It looks like much of the food is prepared in house - with new options and delicious recipes using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Washrooms are clean. Outdoor seating available in warmer days. The location is just south of Greektown on Pape. There is a bus stop in front of the cafe. It is not too far from Withrow Park.I am told that warm croissants come fresh from the oven at 10am and 4pm. That is on my list to enjoy next."
