"Das Beste kommt bekanntlich immer zum Schluss??? Nun ja, nicht immer. Auch wenn an dieser Stelle, wie in unserem Fall: "Dessertempfehlung" zu unserer "Belustigung" und Erheiterung des Abends führen sollte. Wir waren uns bzgl. der Wahl eines Nachtisch (zugegeben wieder einmal nicht einig) der Servicemitarbeiter mit einem Lächeln und einem schwarzen großen Würfel (genau, es handelte sich hier um die Dessertkarte) nebst einem Würfel in dazugehörendem Becher zur Stelle. So kam ich mit meiner 4? zu einem Apfeltarte, meine Gegenüber zu ihrer Lebkuchenmousse. Lebkuchenmousse? Schokoladenmousse mit Lebkuchengewürz pimpen und in ein kleines Einweg-Glas gefüllt? Mhm, würzig scharf und leider auch für € 5,80 nicht lecker. Die Tarte in einem heißen Töpfchen (einem Crumble ähnlicher) € 7,80 servieren? Mürbeteigboden mit gewürfeltem Apfel, Deckel drauf und in den Ofen?? Mhm, beim Finale wurde das Ziel eher leicht verfehlt. Hingegen richtig klasse, der Düsseldorfer Senfrostbraten € 24,50 mit tadelloser Garstufe und guten Bratkartoffeln in extra Pfännchen. Der Sauerbraten mit ordentlichem Rotkraut und leider nicht selbstgemachten Knödeln € 19,80 und Putenburger mit Süßkartoffelpommes € 15,90 bei letzterem ist der Pflücksalat den Lagerzeiten um Weihnachten herum leider zum Opfer gefallen. Hier wollte uns der Service einen neuen Hauptgang liefern. Fazit: Service aufmerksam und gut, auch wenn der Gastraum voll ausgebucht ist. Die Küche hat noch etwas Luft nach oben. Alles in allem ist unser Besuch doch recht anständig ausgefallen. Die Preisstruktur bewegt sich hier am oberen Rand der Erträglichkeitsskala."

"This restaurant is exactly how it is advertised. It is a local place in a very old house. I think it dates back to The lady who waited on us was very kind and patient. Her English was not bad as our German ha The food is all German; it was very good. It is very local and very casual; my stars are because they do what they do very well. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is fun. We spoke with all the people sitting around us; we felt like we were at family dinner! My husband had schnitzel and it was very good. I had a piece of beef and it was cooked medium and tasted good. We both had fries they were excellent. I mean really good. I would substitute the boiled potatoes for fries every time. I recommend this great place if you want the local feel. Because we were in Germany the beer was flowing and the Riesling was outstanding!"

"None of the reviews give a proper flavour of this place. Which is more of a dive than a restaurant, but a dive with lovely staff and a short but tasty menu on the basis of one dish!. It's a barcafé, not a restaurant, and...the staff were very helpful to this nonGerman speaking Brit, needed because the chalkboard menu is in German, not French despite the name. I played safe with steakfrites, which was a chunky piece of meat with a nice redwine sauce, with sauté potatoes rather than frites, with fresh spinach. Acceptable, not stunning, quality. At inc aperitif and couple glasses of local wine, decent value for money"
