"Usually when i go to a new place to try their tacos first n then everything after. BUT this go around they had tamales!! Which i dont have in my local places. Anyways, their tacos were pretty standard, enjoyable. Wish their chips werent so flaky, but iliked them. I tried their burrito cheesecake, absolutely delicious. Waitresses were attentive and nice. Highly recommend cominghere, i spent like $24 for 3 tacos, 1 tamale and dessert. That's a LOT of food for that price."

"Unfortunately, every time I come here, it is more and more disappointing. Our server was really trying her best with what appeared to be an overly full section and not enough staff. I would have liked to see the restaurant seat less people and be able to provide better service and accommodate a stressed staff. The food, after waiting almost 2 hours, was quite frankly inedible. Left with a full plate and an empty stomach. Eggs were dry and tasteless, sausage patty was tough and rubbery, hash-brown casserole tasted like a child’s art project with too much glue, and the gravy for the biscuits was like instant mashed potatoes. There were many tables with full plates left behind something is wrong."

"We saw Michael win on the BBQ Pitmasters show and have been wanting to try the place. So, today we tried the pork, beef and ribs for our first visit to Characters (making the most of it since we drove an hour). My wife and I agreed it was awesome BBQ. We'll be back. The coleslaw and potato salad were very good as well (beans weren't ready at the time). The restaurant is the essence of BBQ (see picture for reference). The only thing lacking was some sweet tea. He only sells can drinks. But, this did not take away from the experience. A must try for any BBQ lovers. Take your patience with you when you visit and cash (Credit Card machine was not working and enjoy."

"Even though it 's buffet style, the only thing better than the food is the service. It 's not health food, but the fried chicken, fried catfish, greens, skillet corn, macaroni and cheese and etc. will warm your belly and your heart. And, all the ladies who work in and around the dining room will define southern hospitality for anyone who happens to wander in. Not easy to find if you 're not a local, but getting lost results in a pleasant drive though small town America."

"Small place with decent wait times. waitress was pleasant. side salad was a nice portion. the brussels sprouts side was very small. the kids enjoyed the chicken and waffles. the bottle caps appetizer was plentiful (fried pickled jalapeños served with ranch sauce). the shrimp po boy wrap was standard. nice family atmosphere."
