"We found this place walking in the city centre. The house is beautiful, with high ceiling arches made from traditional volcanic stone. The service was warm and attentive, and the food and wine were excellent I had a pepper steak; it was served with homemade pasta,... delicious! The wine list was extensive, which was a challenge, but the recommendation was very good. My husband had a lasagna with rocoto, it tasted fantastic!"

"Food served here is more expaensive comparing to normal picnterias but you pay for much better quality of your meals. Chancho which I ate here was the best I had in all Sud Amerika. Really, really tasty food. It's worth spending few soles more for such well prepared meals! Service was also very nice!"

"All I’ll say is this was one of the best meals of my life. And it’s been a long one. We had alpaca. Don’t order it overcooked because it comes on a hot lava rock slab and you can get it to whatever level you like. Staff are great. Worth going to Peru just for this."

"Tipika is a strange place. There are wax work dummies scattered around that the Peruvian customers took great joy in having their photograph taken with! We went as part of a large group from the UK. The food was generous in portion size and tasty....The starter I had was a bell pepper stuffed with chilli con carne, which was delicious. The main was steak with quinoa. The quinoa was flavoursome but the steak was millimetres thin and cooked within an inch of its life! The dessert was cheese ice cream, which seemed similar to a semi fresco tiramisu but with a cinnamon flavour rather than a coffee flavour. A pan pipe duo turned up to deliver a few songs but then tried to sell their CD naturally in these days of digital downloads no one bought it! Having failed at CD selling the duo then passed around a basket for donations but interestingly only to the tourist customers, not to the locals..."
