"Was really pleased! Food was lovely, service was great. My husband had the seafood pot pie, yum! Lovely soft sauce. My mum and I ordered a bagel with gravlax and the quiche. We split it and shared. THe bagel wasn't one, bbt it was nice. I was excited to try the green godess cream cheese but was a bit underwhelmed. But don't let that get in the way. It's a really good spot."

"Our visit to The Beacon did not prompt us to return or recommend to friends (or anybody at all).We ordered water "to start" and three prime rib sandwiches. The server asked how we wanted to prime rib cooked, 2 medium rare and 1 well done. Around 20min later we wondered 1) where our sandwiches were and 2) could we please order an actual drink? Our server never came back. My husband flagged down another server and asked her to send ours over so we could order drinks. I kid you not: 43 minutes later we received our meals. The server set them down in front of us and said "Here are your prime rib sandwiches." I said "This is not what we ordered." She said "Yes this is the prime rib sandwich." I, who have only ever seen the menu ONCE earlier that day when we ordered, replied "No, this is the steak sandwich, open faced on a baguette with onions and blue cheese. We ordered the PRIME RIB sandwiches."The Beacon Management, I ask you, how is it that a customer who has only seen your menu once know it better than your own staff, who I have to assume, receive training involving LEARNING THE MENU?She told us our ACTUAL sandwiches would not be nearly as long. We waited 43 minutes for 3 steaks that we DIDN'T ORDER to cook because our server did not know the difference between steak and prime rib.The prime rib sandwiches arrived: all well done, greasy, and just capped off a miserable dining experience.Check my other reviews - they are overwhelmingly positive, so when I write that a restaurant really messed up, it's because this place REALLY MESSED UP."
