"We were in town for a wedding and at loose ends with 5 couples on a Friday night.. Potters was the obvious choice. easy pub food thats actually tasty, plenty of beer choices and a great outdoor area that enabled the smokers to be close...enough to be part of conversation, but far enough away that we couldn't smell the smoke! we had a great night, met some great people and laughed a lot."

"We don't eat a lot of Chinese food but my son & I wanted to try something different so we decided on Chinese food. We have a couple of local places to choose from & after looking at some reviews, I decided on this restaurant. I grew up in Sydney so I have been lucky enough to try some pretty amazing Chinese food, unfortunately this place does not fall into that category. The Mongolian lamb although very tasty was way too salty! The honey chicken had a very strong flavour of old used oil, the honey could hardly be tasted because of this. My favourite dish when having Chinese food is short soup (wonton soup), the short soup from this place was awful, so bad I couldn't stomach it & had to spit it out of my mouth. I did however enjoy the spring rolls, they were very generous in size & authentically tasty.Overall I give this place a poor rating. I would not return nor recommend eating here. Disappointed I wasted $55 on this terrible food."

"I like the fact that this buffet charges by a child's age and we have a child 7 years hence $7 and a child 10 hence $10 They enjoy a meal plus some ice cream or other sweets.Two pictures attached. There is a modest selection of Asian options along with traditional roasts This place is no stand out but pretty good value and tasty foods.Drink prices also very reasonable.Hunter Valley Experience Tours Simon."

"I ordered takeaway lunch specials. Very cheap at $8 for a pick of a selection of dishes with fried rice. Honey chicken was in batter and not bad except fairly tasteless, needed more honey. Satay chicken, not much chicken, I thought at first I was given the wrong dish as it tasted and looked like chow mien with rice. But it had a slight hint of satay taste. Overall dishes need more sauces added.Good to see that this restaurant has gluten free options.A strong smell of bleach greeted me when I opened their door which almost made me turn around, then I thought well they must have a clean restaurant but perhaps they should keep such strong smells for when customers aren't around.Room was very dark with no lights on, I had to turn menu to light coming in from window to read it. Room very dated and needs updating. I wouldn't sit and eat here...With so many choices of restaurants in Cessnock they need to up their game if they want repeat customers."

"Saturday night has live music which is a nice touch. If the bistro is full you can eat in the relaxed lounge area. Food was hearty and filling. The kitchen can give you a tax invoice but not the bar, which isn't good for business travellers justifying their expenses. Play roon for kids is good for families. Good amount of choices on the menu but nothing uber healthy. Good pub meal options. If under time constraints great option, what you expect is what you get"
