"Of the three or so restaurants with a Michelin star in or near the well-loved historical wine-town of Deidesheim, L.A. Jordan has to be the most pioneering, international and hip. The restaurant itself is composed of three dining spaces set back in the courtyard behind...the luxurious, small boutique Hotel Ketschauer Hof and shares a history with the impressive Weingut Geheimer Rat Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan. After being greeted in the courtyard upon closing in on the restaurant by a friendly young woman, we were led to our table in the large room looking onto the courtyard--first observation: they obviously take note of when guests are approaching them well before the guests arrive at the door (nice! . With the large French doors open all evening, my wife and I enjoyed the long summer sunset and fresh air in a tall room designed with nods to Philippe Starck, with touches which would not be out of place in South Beach Miami or Los Angeles. Both of us ordered the Signature Menu, which contains the greatest hits of Executive Chef Daniel Schimkowitz, and their wine menu pairing. First course: foie gras with fermented pepper and vinaigrette (great gateway . Second course: egg yolk, ham, parmesan and caviar (inventive, complex . Third course: salmon trout in a sweet, sour and spicy seasoning (delicious, international . Fourth course: an extraordinary charred beef in black burgundy truffles and teriyaki (technical, amazingly delicious . Fifth course: beans, almond milk, banana (singular, imaginative . All of these plates showcased artistic presentation, and used the fresh products in a well-thought, masterful, even flawless fashion. The second, fourth and fifth course left very lasting memories. On the hospitality front, the French Maitre d'Hotel Gilles Duflot offered perfect, friendly service with real charm, spirit and a sense of play. Second observation: from his conversation, which alluded to matters related to my profession, I could tell the restaurant staff google guests before they arrive, to get to know potential XPs beforehand. (You are guests in their game. The restaurant had a very enthusiastic young sommelier who described his logic in deciding on each pairing with enthusiasm and who no doubt enjoys the wonderful advantage of working in a restaurant located in the heart of one of the best wine regiions in Germany. Service personnel, outfitted in dress shirts with nice jeans, were very attentive in a casual, friendly manner, without stiff convention or outmoded rituals. Additional dessert wines, cheese course, and coffees were delicious, and they also graciously had prepared a cake for my wife's birthday. All in all, faultless, enjoyable, fun, creative, a restaurant at the top of its game."

"Very charming and romantic location in an old stable with good local food and very good local giant from the vineyard that belongs to the restaurant. I recommend the liver dump and if your visit is in the right time of the year, you should enjoy the white asparagus with scavenger and sauce Hollandaise."

"Our decision to celebrate the 70th birthday party with 70 guests at a small in deidesheim was right and top-class. an impressive location - this tasteful vaulted cellar, by making it wonderfully celebrate, fascinated us already during the visit. a professional offer with creative ideas and suggestions was sent to us post-turning. We were impressed by the company philosophy to use only regional products from cooperation partners. woman slender explained to us that one can talk about many things and ideas - but in pointo wein, only a pirate comes in question. after a wine tasting at the partner winery brown, we then chose wonderful plumbing wee for our guests who were accepted without problems. already the champagne reception with flame-cake variations in the hof delighted our guests who were totally enthusiastic after entering the vaulted cellar. stylish, tasteful, just after our presentation, the matching earlylings decoration already enjoyed the auge. the table water, juices and the selected wee were replaced so our guests already signaled satisfaction. a good impression left the staff on the buffet, which then distributed our food selection on the guest's tellers. the preparation of the spears was brilliant. meat and fish products, as well as the seasonal vegetables on the point cooked and cries with delicious supplements. all wishes and requests were accepted by the excellently trained and extremely friendly service staff and immediately taken care of.Our resümee: our celebration was perfect by a - z and the ambitious toptoo rounded off the wonderful birthday party. a warm thank you to the woman and the super nice staff." again and again ".lautet our credo!"

"I read comments below about the restaurant thinking it will meet my expectations. The building itself is nice, interior design is modern, clean but lacks a bit of warmth in my eyes to make you feel cozier. Tables are very wide so it is difficult to have a conversation that wouldn't disturb people sitting next to you. Food is ok but far away from a wow factor. I had starter recommended by the restaurant. It consisted of five small dishes. I liked two or three of them the rest was just food. As a main I took tempura as I like shrimps. They were really nice, so were the vegetables. I got rice and miso soup on a side. Nothing really wrong with it, I did expect something special for the price you pay for such meal. Overrated, I am afraid."
