"Currently on holiday and wanted to celebrate our Nieces 16th birthday. Menu is very limited, food was something I could have prepared at home but to a higher quality. Prawn salad was basically frozen prawns in a Marie Rose sauce with a bit of salad....Mushroom on toast was a piece of toasted bread ladled with sliced mushrooms in a very salty garlic sauce. Haddock and chips were ok but quite greasy and mushy peas were dry. Service was mediocre, had to keep asking staff for extra drinks, cutlery, sauce etc. I would avoid, quite expensive for the quality received, not good value for money."

"I'm giving it a 5* because the staff were so lovely and the food was very good. The bedroom was strange,with a storage cupboard and combi boiler in it. The bathroom was grubby but the shower worked well. The bedrooms and the upper part definitely need attention. The bed was comfortable and Tea making facilities are a bonus. Rooms: 2 Service: 5 Location: 5"

"We are on holiday in the area, and our hosts recommended the Mabie House Hotel for a meal, and we were not disappointed. The staff are very friendly, the food was excellent, and we found it very good value. There was a cheerful atmosphere with lots of families out enjoying themselves. We had the mussels as a main, and a delicious salmon dish from the specials menu, followed by extraordinary sundaes all freshly made a sticky toffee pudding one, and a mint choc chip aero one! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thank you everyone."
