"This is one of those places that I've walked past a number of times, particularly since it is at the entrance to Melbourne Central, but haven't got around to checking out until recently. I have to admit that it didn't really grab me all that much, though I can't really put my finger on why. The service wasn't the best, and there didn't seem to be a huge range of beers on tap, at least not to have the title of 'Pan-Asian Beer Bar'. Sure, it is located in a really convenient location, but it's not a place that I'd be drawn to all that much."

"Worst customer experience I've ever had. Owner tried to charge us $18 per person for sitting down for 20minutes and told us this was normal in Melbourne. We ordered $26 worth of food for a party of 4 the restaurant was only a third full with many spare tables. We weren't rude to this man and didn't left as soon as he took our bowls away. We eventually settled on $10 per person as he never told us and when asked, shoved the menu in my face pointing out that it's $20 per person and he's doing us a favour."

"Great Food, Lovely People, what more could you want?. The Golden Swan is one of those outer suburban Chinese Restaurants that a lot of people would drive past a hundred times.<br/>A real throwback to the 70's, there's nothing fancy about the decor, the exterior doesn't hold out a lot of promise and the location is, well let's be honest, far from glamorous.<br/>But inside is some of the best old fashioned Chinese food around.<br/>The servings are huge and the breath of the wok is in every mouthful.<br/>The family who run the place are very friendly and after only a few visits welcome you like a long lost friend when you return.<br/>The menu has all the old classics, the lemon chicken, the sweet and sour pork, satay beef etc. <br/>Plus, and it's a BIG plus, FRIED ICE CREAM!<br/>The Vegetable Fried Rice is wonderful and their Prawn Crackers are another huge serve that could fill you up before you even start eating the mains.<br/>It's pretty small and on some Saturday nights it can get very crowded but midweeks are VERY quiet and it's not that far out of town via the freeway.<br/>It's places like this that remind you why you came to like Chinese food so much in the first place.<br/>It ain't fancy, but it's bloody good."

"Love this place! its so cool! although I am not Vietnamese, it feels like dropping into a friends place who happens to be a great cook and taking a seat in their kitchen dining and being fed great food. The Vietnamese Couslaw is to...die for! all the meals we have had have been tasty, fresh and plentiful. for 15 per head you are full. for $20 per head you are stuffed! BYO only, however, the IGA next door sells very reasonably priced booze! The place if quite casual and the decor simple, but looks can be deceiving, the place if always full for the great food and excellent service. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming."

"Most people here take-away, but they have a small sit down section (only 2 or 3 tables). Pizzas are freshly made and come in a range of interesting flavours. Good coffee and desert calzone too. Well worth the visit if you'd like something a little different in your pizza selection."
