"To be frank, I'm not a fan of the place. I appreciate it is a nice night out for a lot of local people, but I find the place garish and the food quite ordinary. Lismore has many more places that are truly special. Yes,...the service is good and yes they aim to please, but this is, at best, just utilitarian eating. You've got to eat, and if nothing else was open, this would be the place to come."

"We tried the beef and mushroom and the duck and mushroom and were completely won over.The pastry casing was light,crunchy,golden,tasty and strong and the content was very tasty.Best pies we have had anywhere. Highly recommend"

"In Lismore for the day we did a quick sortie around the CBD looking for a suitable lunch venue. Strolling along we noticed Blueys Cafe which looked like an inviting prospect. Having perused the fare on offer I opted for the Special of the day...which was a Reuben sandwich and the endearing one opted for the Buttermilk dredged deep southern fried chicken breast burger. Our hostess was most delightful, friendly and engaging a rarity in this day and age. Service was swift and soon we were tucking into our respective offerings. The Reuben was nothing short of flat out super delicious with a generous serve of corned beef and associated filling all topped with a most flavourful mustard sauce dressing. My companion was glowing with platitudes stating that in the whole of her existence that she had never experienced such stupendously delicious chicken burger...ever! The whole lunch deal further sweetened with a very reasonable, sensibly priced parting of the Oxford scholars...under 10 for each. Great value and highly recommended."

"I visited for an early breakfast. This is a bustling little cafe with an extensive blackboard menu. I choose the Breakis Burger. What a surprise this was. The egg was cooked in the style of a Spanish Omelet and served with crispy bacon and green leaves. Excellent.The coffee was exceptional and several different coffee beans were available.The coffee was made by a skilled barista and served by a friendly helpful staff. A visit to Lismore without a coffee at Benchtop Espresso would be a wasted trip. I look forward to a visit for lunch soon."

"For a small country town they have access to pretty good Chinese. I like the cured beef. I would not recommend the deep fried ice, as I think it is made on cheap water ice. The service is average and the dining area... the club can lack a bit of atmosphere when quiet, but when busy in a Friday or Saturday night, it is a great place to get a feeling for the small town as many people visit."

"Decided to try somewhere different for dinner. At 6.40 there was no-one I the restaurant but decided we would try out out anyways Firstly no vegetarian options on the menu. When questioned they said they are in the middle of updating their menu. They offered...to make me a pasta. I opted just for a salad. The chef did make me a beautiful salad. Not a restaurant I would be rushing back to"
