"Lovely friendly family feel restaurant, with very tasty and good value food. We both had steaks which were great and a delicious flan for dessert. Loved the overall ambience (felt very traditional in a great side street setting) and the friendliness of the waiters. Would definitely recommend."

"Happened across this gem when we stopped to tour the castle across the street. It is an inn (6 rooms) and restaurant with a huge outdoor area and views of the castle and valley beautifully decorated. The restaurant serves the true Portuguese food strong on flavor and low on odd spices. They offer the local cow (yummy beef that tastes like it came from a happy cow), lamb that melts in your mouth, octopus so tender and luscious you won't want to stop eating it those were the dishes we ate. They also have cod (of course), hake, the typical hamburger/egg dish all the menu is written on a blackboard. The owner speaks perfect English and is helpful both on describing food and picking local wines. We were there for over two hours a wonderful break from a long tour. My SO is a chef and she gave it the highest marks. So please, they are still establishing themselves EAT there and then write about it."
