"We arrived quite late for lunch by French custom at just after 2pm and the customers had already left. We apologised and explained that we would be very happy with a simple lunch of whatever was available. The owners daughter who was busy with her young children and making goose pate for Christmas agreed and let us choose from the menu, telling us the exception was no desert, we said no problem. We ordered duck and beef dishes as well as starters and the food was hearty country, fresh and delicious. Her mother came out to check on us and ensure all was well. After lunch, the daughter arrived the most delicious cakes with vanila creme, what a surprise. Was it the Christmas spirit alive and well at Ferme Auberge Gauvery or thier typical good service? I will need to return to find out and while there visit the adorable little shop where they sell all homemade goods. What a delightful find. Definitely recommend."
