"We ate in this restaurant a very hot evening. It was also very hot inside, but as they have not ouside seating, that was where we sat. It took ages before someone noticed us at all. Apparently there were only two people in the restaurant, a cook and a waitress, but there must have been more out back. Well eventually the waitress took our orders for pizzas, and then we waited some - a lot - more, while we witnessed pizzas being prepared for take-away, large parties being served etc. The pizzas, when eventually they arrived, were quite nice, but nothing out of the ordinary, except the regional touch: Pizza with goats cheese and honey - more peculiar than nice-tasting!"

"It's a place I had fun coming but it's less and less. The terrace is very pleasant but prices have remained with in addition the quality and service in net decrease. It's a shame not to take into account recent opinions and to put in place actions to progress. If it keeps the notes going towards a 3/5... Too bad to get there for a table that was pretty well-known..."

"En route from UK to Spain, our stop over after 11 hours of driving was Valance. Great town to wander round, but 99% of places we closed for a French National Holiday. For three hungry kids and two hungry parents this wasn't an ideal situation as spirits flagged.Eventually we found a couple of squares which were quiet, each with one or two groups eating, but we kept walking and out of nowhere appeared a bustling square with tables crammed with diners and three or four restaurants.We chose Le Rabelais, this was a great choice. A mix of pizza and salad followed. Pizzas were very good and salads excellent. The lady serving us was very friendly and pizzas were served in almost not time at all.We all really liked this place and would recommend to any other weary travellers needing sustenance on a long journey through France."

"Today, in France, only a few places can boast to have completely domestic meals. we had gurnard fillets with five or different types of vegetables: I was glad to see that fish was served without potato chips or rice and when they eat (home baked. lemon cake dessert, they have the real taste, not the standardized industrial stuff kept in a freezer for the month. l 'épicerie (old Gallic name for a grocery store is also occupied by smiling and attentive people when we stop next time in valence, I know where we will eat!"
