"A day after an exquisite diner at Dulce Patria #1 at Tripadvisor when writing this review we end up hanging with friends in San Angel, on the local market and art galleries, looking for a nice lunch place. At first you can very easily miss Don Carlos and its very narrow stairs squeezed between a bar and a shop, leading to a first floor terrasse we have actually sat first at one of the bars across the street, spotted then terrasse then and decided to move . The place is overlooking San Angel square, full of plants and flowers with a simple but delicious menu. We have just order few small starters and what appears to be a speciality of Don Carlos a great molcajetes more than enough to share for three : a traditional mortar and pestle tool, traditionally used for grinding food and here transformed into a cooking tool. Very hot, molcajetes is bought to the table and still cooking a mix of nopale, tomato, oignion, chorizo, slices of chicken, beef and pork and fresh Mexican cheese. You all dig in in the pot eat fast ; to enjoy the dish, coming with some tortilla and very spicy sauces. On drink side, the choice is between soda and beer, but it goes greatly with the main dish. Enjoy he food and nice atmsphere !"
