"I don’t know why some Italian restaurants persist in shooting themselves in the foot with small portions and short pours of wine by the glass. I had high hopes for Mandolino, but it was not to be. The place is nice and the music was just what we like. The bread was fine. And the margarita pizza was very good. And, the wine we ordered by the glass $12) was terrific, a super Tuscan. Unfortunately, it was a short pour. A few sips and it was almost gone. I hate that. The bottle probably goes for $15 retail and yet they skimp. Likewise, the tagliatelle pasta with porcini mushrooms seemed like a good choice, but the portion was well below average. In addition, it was way over-salted. It’s unlikely we’ll return a restaurant that we leave still hungry."

"We love coming to Little Italy when in New York and Capri is quintessential Little Italy. Perfect weather to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. I had diet problems that needed special attention and they were perfectly gracious about it all. Go, enjoy!"

"We went to La Masseria for dinner before a show on Sunday, 1/22. They did not disappoint!! The service was excellent, friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is perfect for fine dining, and not chaotic like many restaurants in NYC. We were not rushed and the meal was perfectly paced. It was NYC Restaurant Week, in which they participate. They have a full wine list. We started with appetizers Mozzarella Farcita Dello Chef ... absolutely delicious. We also ordered Fried Calamari and Shrimp, tender and golden crisp. For entree, we ordered the Scialatielli alla Siciliana, fresh short cut fettuccini with eggplant and fresh mozzarella in the most delicious tomato sauce. Perfection! The grilled salmon over grilled zucchini and mustard sauce was also excellent ... moist and flavorful, lighter than the pasta. Don't miss the Tiramisu for dessert! Topped off with the perfect cappuccino. Wonderful meal and highly recommend!!"

"We had a great time on the River Crab on July 4th. The weather was spectacular and we decided to sit outside. It was perfect - the yellow umbrellas and the blue sky and water made a calm environment. Our waitress was attentive and met all of our needs. The food was excellent and we hated to go. We will definitely be back and I got the word out about this place. Watching the boats on the water is a huge plus. We hope that we can now return to a sailboat ride and lunch that is offered during the week."

"First of all the service was spectacular. I am a harsh judge on that aspect of dining. Ambience is pedestrian, but decent. The zucchini flower appetizer sounded great, but was just deep fried ricotta. Rest of dinner very good. I would not hesitate to eat here again"
