"I ate lunch here and thought it so good that I would return for dinner. For lunch I had the tuna tartare with ginger and coriander which was delicious. As I was in a hurry I didn’t really take any notice of the service. Upon...my return for dinner I ordered a pre dinner drink then the duck breast. That was the last I saw of the waiter and it was early in the evening so not very busy. No checking that my meal was ok or that I would like another drink. Nothing. Until I had finished my meal and by then I was so disappointed that I left. With so many other fantastic options in Arles I think you need better service to stay in the game."

"Not a world on the terrace. We're three having an hour to eat. An arrogant waiter who neglects us the first 10 minutes, comes to take the order and in the end goes to serve other people. Come back. 3 salads.... we have 15 minutes of lunch break when he finally comes back with the dishes. As we note that we were pressed, look at the order and feels that it only took 19 minutes between the time of the order and the service. Yes, but before we had waited 15 minutes. There's no way to jump out of joy... what it must be when we're over 10! The cleopatre salad had gnocchis in unplanned... it was good but not exceptional! Too bad for the service."

"Pleasant staff. Ordered. Dish arrived. Atmosphere is relaxed. Sadly I can't give it the rave review others feel is deserved Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish but if you can't do Steak Tartare in a French restaurant you shouldn't be cooking professionally. Certainly don't try to be fancy by trying to go all Asiatique with tough slivers of ginger or lemongrass. I can't tell which as they've added enough salt to kill a goat. All the vegetables were far too greasy and swamped with minced garlic. The panfried(? carrot was blackened on the underside. The potatoes were piping hot though. The bread is good. I'm not going to add to my order as I've seen the deserts coming out to others. I don't wish to be disappointed further. With all the restaurants in Arles, based on my experience, I recommend you to try somewhere else. The waitress I asked for the bill from has just sat down for a cigarette break, much needed I'm sure. I'd sort of like to leave though."

"My wife and I were on a months holiday through Portugal and the South of France. Arles was our seventh stop. We 'd lucked out with a marvelous little restaurant the night before and had hopes for more of the same from Bar a Vin.. Not to be unfortunately. We weren 't asking for much either, but even a simple Croque Monsieur salad was beyond this place. My note was 'SHOCKING '.. likewise for my wifes Feta Sardine salad (3xthumbs down) and I added Bad Bread ."

"You would not expect to find good pizza in the Provence area of France. But here it is. We went to Place du Forum (near our hotel) to get a quick bite after traveling most of the day. We had noticed that Rick Steves recommends...this place in his guide book for Provence. It was very good. Great pizza. A carafe of good local wine. Nice cold beer. A friendly, courteous, attentive staff. Sit outside and people watch the goings-on in Place du Forum. And the prices are very reasonable."
